Burma isn't a shithole. A friend of mine has showed me a lot of his pictures from there last year and I'll go there this summer myself. Cheap? Absolutely. Shithole? Far from it. Looks like an amazing country.

I'm in Burma now. It's definitely something you can do in 10 days:

1: Fly into Yangon
2: See the big Pagoda. It's worth seeing for all the Burmese people doing stuff around it. Go to one of the fashion show places at night and pick up a couple hookers.
3: Fly to Bagan, stay at Ostello Bello and join people for sunset via an E-bike.
4: Sunrise in Bagan, if you want to do the baloons (around $360pp) book at least a few days ahead even in low season. Then wander around Bagan on an E-bike.
5: Fly to Inle Lake, bike around a bit. There are bike routes to interesting spots online. Book a boat tour for the next day.
6: Boat tour of Inle Lake. Go to Intheon too.
7: Fly to Mandalay. Take a bus to Kyaukme.
8: Trekking in Kyaukme. Yes, not hsipaw.
9: Bus back to Mandalay

This is pretty much what I did. The hooker was disappointing the rest was great.
