Oh boy it's that time again. Spotted hyenas are weird. At some point the females evolved to have more testosterone than the males which created all the weirdness of the species. The females are bigger, stronger, and more aggressive than the males. This caused the spotted hyenas to become a matriarchy. The problem is that I feel that this requires a full pastebin story written over several days that explores the relationship between a chubby Palico and her Hunter master. One that discusses various aspects of Hunter life. So, you want to write and you know your topic. You're already ahead, but head starts aren't worth much if you don't keep going. What are you going to write? Smut? Slice of life stuff? What's the plan here?

If you just sit down and go "oh boy, time to write" you're just going to end up staring at the blinking text cursor for an hour and feel sad. I myself don't structure EVERYTHING out, but I make sure I at least have a designated point A, a point B, and a couple key things I really want to do in between those two points before I actually start.

For example, with Tough to Love, I knew ahead of time that both characters would be of the rougher sort, I knew that I was going to try my damnedest to hide the fact that this was their honey moon night up until the end, and I knew 100% that it was going to end with handholding in the missionary position for the purpose of procreation. The process of actually doing all that was just an act of organized chaos and noise until I was satisfied with what I had.

Of course, there are other things you could ask for help with. How to improve your prose, how verbose of a vocabulary to use, do you have trouble with motivation to actually sit down and keep writing, how to find inspiration for ideas to write about. Other things like that you might be interested in hearing, but I can't read your mind across the internet so you have to ask them specifically or at least narrow down beyond 'any tips.'

Because the only real, generic tips I can give is A) Set a routine to write. Make it a habit that you do rather than 'eh I'll write whenever I feel like it.' Even if it's not for /hmofa/ at all and will never see the light of day outside your hard drive, set a time to write something every couple days (or be insane like me and write every day). And B) Writing 'off the cuff' with no plan will get you nowhere, since direction hardly falls from the sky. At least know where you're going with things when you start something.
