Weiss' was stupidly predictable. Everyone could see at Whitley's first scene that he was up to something bad. They forced too hard to make us hate Jacques. He was too one-sided with no redeeming qualities. Weiss did nod escape from her home, she literally just walked out from a "hidden door" in the library.

Yang got the least amount of screentime and it really showed. Things were rushed and skipped. She got her new arm in her first scene. She had some PTSD and depression and then it was gone.

Ruby acted as if volume 3 never happened, as if she never met Penny and never saw Pyrrha die. You're right that she expressed doubt, but she only did this at the very end of the volume!

Blake's character got fucked up because now she is a Faunus "princess" who was literally born into the White Fang. She did grew up in a mansion with wealthy parents instead of being an orphan who witnessed racism from humans first hand. She's just a privileged SJW.

The Ren and Nora part was good, but why are they travelling with Jaune and Ruby exactly? Because of Pyrrha? None of them seem to be mourning her. Jaune is the only one in RNJR doing it.

In short, volume 4 was a boring mess.
