On the topic of Marty and Martina or who Remmy hooks up with or what's the deal with his past or any of Pack Street's other running mysteries, I just hope Weaver actually settles on some answers rather than leaving everything open and ambiguous. I'm sympathetic to wanting to encourage fan input but there's been an absolute bumper crop of that, we already have the fan-fiction version of how all these scenarios could possibly play out.

What we DON'T have is the author's own vision of where the story should go, and if he's stepping on eggshells trying to deliver a compromise that everyone (and their headcanon) can live with then we're not much better off than we are now. Reading a story isn't just about being pitched a bunch of characters and setting elements and told to go play with them, it's about watching them do something - kill people off, betray and befriend, uncover secrets, change the status quo, bring us to somewhere new we couldn't imagine reaching when it started.

He's doing a good job of telling the story and driving the plot forward without it being total slice-of-life water-treading, especially the way it ties in with the main Zootopia storyline. I just hope that the setup we've seen so far is going to lead somewhere radical and new that isn't constrained by the need to play nice with fan expectations and speculation.

You need to make sure that if you're going to put down the lines first, and color underneath, that your ink needs to be waterproof/"water-resistant". The refills for the brush I used and linked has waterproof ink, so you wouldn't have to worry too much about smear as long as you let it dry.

Which I absolutely do too- but I understand where you're coming from. (Ps. If you do that get some brush cleaner and make sure you take good care of it if it's made of real animal hair. If you don't make sure to clean it after every use, the ink will dry at the base of the bristles and it will ruin a nice and expensive brush.)

The tip of my pentels have lasted me for 5 or more years now, depends of rough you use them, I guess. If ink get dried in it and messes with the bristle a little, you can take it apart and give it a good hot water flush and bath, and maybe a few sprays of windex in the water too to let the diluted ammonia break down the ink.
