I think that if the train sequence isn't going to have much in the way of interesting situations/decisions, then OP should probably consider "time skipping" past it, since I assume the school is going to be where the meat and potatoes of the quest will take place

To be fair though, railroading is a pretty common thing during the introductory parts of a quest.

In my experience the "fun and interactive" quests tend to longer-lived anyway. Lewdness in quests can be fun, but if a quest is just straight up porn, then most people lose interest once they blow their load.
