So it seems like bascially all the discussion and stories are humans being modern pets. Aka not really doing much but leisure in a modern setting. So what about some different setting. Just throwing out some ideas

-Humans are of normal intelligence. Instead the situation is more like slavery, but could be a less harsh style. Could by any number of technological time peirod. Plus it could cover a lot of things. Like maybe since humans and furs aren't interbreedable, it is acceptable for nobles of both genders to have humans for sex.

-Maybe a caste type system where strong furs rule as nobles and such. Weaker furs and humans could be squires to warrior nobles. Maintaining armor, guarding their back and 'servicing their needs'. Maybe a ss dynamic. A big strong female fur warrior ordering around a teen human boy.

A working human, but using the dumber type of this thread (like whale or Dolphin level not dog). Someone did have a guard thing, which did look at this a bit. However Humans won't really be useful in the same niches as our pets. Weaker senses and far less killing or stopping power. But they could still be useful for other stuff that makes use of dexterity or endurance.

Maybe using the teleported to the Fur world idea, but being recognised as somewhat different. Like maybe they notice being far taller then average humans of that world. They could be mostly within the 5 feet range, while a 6 foot or taller would be noticeable. Since they Haven't been selected for size or had the massive boost in food and living standards.

Anyway maybe saved from getting balls snipped, by some Fur snatching up the giant human to breed with other humans. Breeding animals is common enough amongst Normal humans for pets and livestock.

Maybe sci fi style. Aliens kidnap human to take back to their world. Zoo exhibit, a prize for a rich guy or a pet. With those aliens looking like a Anthro version of a animal.

I'm thinking of writing green where the human is revealed to be a human in a Rorschach style fight.

Actually, when it comes to greentexting, I tend to overlook small grammatical mistakes like that. Unless it interrupts the flow of the story (hinting to deeper and different faults), it's usually easily ignored unless horribly prevalent and obvious.

Greentexting is kind of like a literary sketchpad of sorts, imo.
(That's not to say I'm not fairly autistic when it comes to searching for mistakes in my own greentexts though, heh)

Guys, I need help. My human acts really skittish around my sister these days. This is really weird, because he was always really affectionate with her before. Ever since she took care of him while I was away, it seems like he's terrified of her.

I walked a bit funny, but I did not see any bruising on him. My sister has never hurt anyone in her life, and she works at human shelters, and even gives to human charities, so I just can't imagine her being abusive to a human of all things.

I did, and the vet said that she saw no problems with him physically, and that he's perfectly healthy for a human. I asked my sister what she did, and she just said that she just gave him lots of love. When I asked her what could have caused this behavior, she guessed that maybe she cuddled a bit too hard.

That doesn't quite explain some of his other changes in behavior. We used to do this cute trick where I licked his cheek, and he kissed mine, and we took turns. Now he backs away when I try to lick him.

Keep in mind, though, that writing PoF stuff is-.. a bit tricky; you need some twist (definitely most of the time this twist is anon being the only intelligent human amongst stupid ones). Now, your anon -is- different, I'll give you that, but your entire greentext was him acting (and feeling!) like a pet.

I hope you continue, though, and bring some more plot into it! Damn, it would be crazy weird to be in a world like that. Although granted, if every other human was on the level of stupid animal, it would be easy (and eventually comfortable) to fit in, most likely.

Okay, first things first, suspension of disbelief is fine and all, but this breaks that line.

Several things are readily strange, like why do humans have canine mannerisms, despite not being dogs? That would be like our dogs acting like humans for no sensible reason.
Unless it's a plot point, there should be no reason his brain would be rewired to match the human nature of Anthro fur land, while still leaving him previous knowledge and intelligence. Instict is both inherently genetic and developed over years. He shouldn't, and realistically couldn't have the same instinct as native humans. and there is no instict possible short of mentally scarringly nasty that would could stop something like an adult who has spend most of their life standing sitting on all fours.
The fact that furs hear human speech as dog noises doesn't make sense, especially considering Anon can understand fur speech and it's the same as human speech. If fur speech was alien to him, it would make sense, as humans speaking to each other would just be human noises to Furs.
Human anatomy is also terrible for quadrupedal locomotion, so unless these humans are build more like monkeys or apes, it's unlikely/impossible they would evolve this way, being quadrupedal. Also, still being able to run upright would make even less sense for a species that lives on four limbs, as they'd fall and crash the moment they tried due to lack of balance and experience, just like as a two legged species, us running on four is like learning to walk again.

When Anon was about to be mounted, there is no instinct that will tell him he needs this that could overpower common sense, you know, something most humans from our world have. That would be like someone giving someone else a friendly shove, but instinct tells the recipient to dive face first into the ground instead of getting their balance back, and they can't resist it at all.
While canines do do things like that, the recipient almost always accepts because they either see the mounter as an alpha asserting themselves(Which Anon clearly does not), or the recipient has no idea what's going on, and in the latter case, they tend to figure out pretty fast and get out of the way.

Again, I'm new to this thread. I'm not sure what works, how stories are formatted, and what they're generally about. I just read the title for the thread and what it implied, and started writing. Wake up pets

Can we stop having Humans act just like a different type of pet exactly. Bipedals aren't going to act like Four legged animals. Human Teeth don't work as a pure meat or plant eater. Humans don't have scent glands mostly in the ass like dogs. Plus humans can get stinky easily compared to most animals.


Maybe a plot point in a story is that anon the transported Human looks like a mutant to a degree . Native humans have shorter legs and torso with longer arms. With more fur, but not to the extent of a furry. If they stayed more in the trees, using limited technology.

Or they could retain the same body shape having made the transition to hunter gatherer but of course still smaller with poorer nutrition. A six foot or taller guy could tower over most.

Also Humans don't really work as a common pet. Long gestation and maturation periods, capable manipulatiors and relatively fragility would make them difficult pets. However that found make another plot point. Fur finds matured human and adopts because of how expensive they would be normally and how valuable they are. After checking for a micro chip. Or it could just be a wealthier owner. Just tossing out ideas.

While a longer maturation period isn't necesarrily a good thing, long lived humans as pets would be a good thing. Suppose a human lives around 50 years before natural death or being put down due to body starting to fail, they would be a pet for life, almost. Alrighty. Back from what had me tied up so some Author Notes here.

As I had said above, this update of Mean Dog took about four different rewrites. A big reason for that was that no ideas had been speaking to me with this story for a long time. I have a general bullet point scene order in mind, but as a comedy, the jokes and the humor I have to feel in the moment so they execute right. It has to be funny to me as I write it. The first three iterations were me trying to really force humor when I was in a totally humorless mood, and it showed. Jokes didn't make sense, characterization was wrong, and it was just awkward all around. The weeks of gap was me either avoiding writing, or forcing myself into my chair to write something I ended up hating. That's just the nature of this sort of story for me when I'm not in a goofy mood. The current iteration is what I considered at the bar for the story.

Mean Dog has had a tremendous amount of momentum for me for what was essentially a silly prompt, but currently I've felt like I'm out of things to say. It's ended up being one of the stories I'm the most fond of so far, but despite how close it is to my planned conclusion, I haven't the ability to complete it right now.

Mean Dog is being put on indefinite hiatus because of that. I'd rather do that than try to force out more updates I have no ideas for currently. I hope all of you guys enjoyed what I was able to contribute to the thread with.

I'll be back to pony after a good chill break, and I'll swing by to comment on the stories here. See you guys around.
