I colored it and tried some simple shading.

Also, I added a slight bald patch on the edge of her legless knee. The idea is that most of it would be under her knee, but a small bit of it stretches far enough out to be visible.

I'd move it over towards the end a bit more. While their legs connect under, they' still jut outward from the end of the thigh like ours.

Also, is she based on an existing pony? If not, the presence of purple is a little overwhelming. I'd reccomend changing the secondary tone of her hair and tail to a lighter purple, and her eyes and headband to a complimentary color.

I went with Amethyst Star as her mother, but it was a pretty arbitrary choice. She's a fairly well-known background pony who as far as I know didn't have a satyr. I didn't really have any particular parent in mind when I first drew her.

And yeah, I can try moving the bald patch around a bit and see if it looks better. It won't be until in a bit though.

I would say this about the bald spot. While the rim would retain black skin where the follicles are just damaged, the scar tissue itself probably wouldn't produce melanin and would stay pink.
This only matters if more than just the edges show in the rework, though.

Actually, I just looked it up and I was wrong. Stumps do retain their normal skin tone, perhaps with a little standard scar discoloration, especially where the skin flaps were sewn down.

I guess it depends on how she lost it. Born deformed (little to no discoloration, probably still with fur), surgically removed in good circumstances (minimal), or something traumatic ripped it off (moderate) or that basically mangled or shredded it (significant).

Would horse scar tissue be darker or lighter?

As for how she lost it, I haven't conclusively decided, but I'd say she lost it in an accident when she was very young. If it was merely chopped off, chances are it could be reattached, so I'd say it was crushed or mangled beyond repair and had to be removed so it wouldn't become infected.
