If I had one piece of critique for your pics it is that the gags don't really work out of context of the posts they were responded to. If they were posted on e621 or something, nobody would get them.

As much as I like them, my suggestion would be that even though we are all here and know what the joke is, the comics should provide their own context, like it should be clear in this one that they swapped panties, and it should have been clear in the Gregg gardening ones why he was doing it.

I hope that helps some, they are all punchline and no setup, so if the setup was in it they could be posted offsite and still work.

I agree that they were going for that whatever is cool message, but it would be easier to discern if game really put some actual focus on the religions and how they affected the town in the game. The thing that leads me to believe this most is Pastor K's "I think everyone doesn't believe in God for a few minutes a day" thing, which was a little bit interesting I guess but didn't make much sense.

Something I think the religious subplot DID do well though, and I think this was entirely by accident, is have a good portrayal of being agnostic.

As someone who has never had any religion for my whole life, I have never really understood how people can be agnostic. Either someone would believe in god because they have faith, or don't because they know it can't be real, but Mae kind of made me understand how people can be agnostic, like, her mother raised her with religion but she genuinely doesn't know what to believe. I doubt this was the intention though, and is probably just the writer projecting.

Scott Benson also said that he "pretty much shares his opinion on religion with Angus" which is fair enough, even if he is projecting, he knows what he believes, or in this case doesn't believe, so I don't think he was the one working through his issues with it.

Then again is there really any point trying to learn about an author from their work? I don't really think so.

I'm sort of agnostic myself and can agree with this. Also I felt like a lot of themes in this game were mostly based off projection. There's a lot of opinions and points of view thrown in from a lot of different perspectives that aren't challenged in any way and allows the player to think on their own, but from a narrative standpoint it's kind of weak to be given questions with too many possible answers.

Mae's neglect to work is something I hated a lot personally. It's probably because of my biased point of view what with being mentally stable and partly religious, but I believe society is a machine that needs everybody to do their part to keep it running.
