The "A love that survived many struggles eventually ends" falls flat since we haven't SEEN any good times with them or proof of their love having taken on tough challenges, so we have no idea of the strength of their relationship. And, as you said, this feels like the part where everything goes to shit before we hit the climax and the characters settle into their new lives.

There is a setup taking place, but I still don't know what to really even expect from this comic anymore. There was no setup for this "secret mission" (no reports of crimes, no prologue of some criminals, etc) so we are just waiting for the long exposition that will happen when they finally explain what the team is for. Then you have to wonder if Nick really is going to stay off the team, which means attention is going to be split even more; between Jack, Judy, and Nick... unless they just split it Jack/Judy and Nick. Then we will probably get even more of this love triangle crap, unless Judy distances herself from Jack because of Nick.

I read what's in the comics.

Just by introducing Jack, the comic undermines Judy's character. Nick behaves as an angsty teenager and totally lets everybody show when somebody gets to him, until aimo decides to suddenly write him differently here. It's a mess, mostly because the authors don't think about what makes sense, but just force characters behave a certain way so that contrived plot can happen.
