That depends on whether you care about the type of icons you're putting out. If you just want raw damage output, a Turned Tooth completely outdoes Ylanas and costs less than 1/4 of the price. It's slightly less useful against other players, since Earth and Physical blockers are fairly common, but it completely shreds single-player opponents.

Actually, it's faster to play the game like a normal Neopian. Every goal removes 8 seconds from the clock, so you can save a few seconds from each game as long as you mash through the "Press any key to continue" screens well enough.
Even if you only score like... 10 goals per game, & we assume that mashing through screens takes away 6 of the 8 seconds you save scoring, that's still 20 seconds removed from every 3 minute Yooyuball game you play.

Across 46 games daily, that's a time save of 15 minutes & 20 seconds. At least.

So yes, you can get ahead in scoring & then do whatever for most of the game....
But those 46 games will still take longer to complete, even if it's idling, there's no guarantee the AI won't out score you in the time remaining -meaning you won't have a win to submit & you'll have wasted 3 minutes- if you don't get enough points & not getting those goals may not be as helpful to your team anyway.

As far as all the crack team engineers over the years have been able to determine, it's completely, 100% random. I got it after like 20 pulls, but I've read some people have sunk over 1m into it and still no avatar.

That's the crazy thing that makes Neopets still so enticing. A lot of the old school stuff that was setup back in the day was done by literally just doing math.random(1, 100000) or whatever the odds are. So many things are just pure chance, it's addictive.

If you're just starting out, and I mean JUST starting out, then ridiculously heavy battle hammer is the best deal for you in single player. Deals 9 (easily blocked) icons for 10np. For a couple thousand, a scarab ring is a decent dual-duty, and parasol of demise is a full light blocker, plus 3 water and 3ish earth.

If you feel like sinking a bit more into a beginner's set, for about 150k or so (haven't checked recently) you can net yourself a scroll of knowledge (11 icons of 5 types) and a patched magic hat (5 earth, 3 light, 3-6 physical defense).

Again, these are for single player battles. It is my personal recommendation that you avoid 2p battledome completely. Those users fall into pokemon levels of Asperger's sustained tedium in how meticulously they prep.

Thanks anon. I'm part of a lending chain right now, but the chucklefuck who's next decided to go AFK for 5 days and the pet is stuck in the pound transfer.

As for Tonu, I tried to set something up with a guy who had one from [spoiler]reddit[/spoiler], but I think the 2-player BD is glitched or something. I'd send him the challenge, he'd accept and make the first move, then when I went to the BD the next day, I wasn't fighting anyone. It's like nothing happened. We tried this like 4 or 5 times before he finally ghosted me, and I can't blame him, so I kinda shelved that one for awhile.

The item ones can be moved to lending, but I do like to try and make a bit of dosh on them in the process. For awhile I was wheeling and dealing in Icy Snowflakes and Chokato cards. It's how I raised enough capital to start making bigger purchases. On the other hand, it's been a month and no one's bought my BGC for market rates yet, so that blows.

Admittedly anon, I posted that & I do often usually win with about 10 goals. Less commonly, 7, or 11, 12 or 13.
Not sure of my exact average, but 10 isn't that bad.

IIRC, it takes about 2 or 3 seconds to score, & each goal/Clockwork Yooyu explosion takes 8 seconds off the clock.

With super optimal play & likely good AI RNG, too, the best is 17 or 18 goals per game. This assumes you get & shoot the ball immediately, & don't miss any shots. As well as getting good balls & AI.

The AI rubber banding or RNG probably means getting more goals past a certain point is often difficult, too, & any goals from them take time off the clock.

10 isn't so bad, anon. Especially as an average; Even if it's not all the time, because of luck & stuff, simple math means that an average GPG of 10 means you've PROVEN you can do better.

For example: With my 10,000 PP, I could've bought 400 Tissue Dispenser Boxes at 25 PP for 6,000 NP. Sell all 400 at 6,000 & I'd get about 2,400,000, not accounting for inflation.

3 of the stamp was also an option for about 900,000 NP each. 2.7K & much less inflation, since, being stamps they're 1-use collectables.

You'll reach All-Star much faster by maxing more games per day.
Shootout Showdown is VERY fast -1 goal is enough & takes a few seconds- & is easy, for example.
19 days of Yooyuball maxing alone at minimum gets you All-Star, but so does 25 days of only maxing Make Some Noise or Shootout Showdown.

Make Some Noise is quick & easy too, but it's a mashing game, so you may have to pace your grinding of it throughout each day.


Ultimately, though, more playing, more prize points to buy those valuable exclusives, & you'll reach All-Star faster.
In fact, if you maxed all 4 games for only SIX days, you'd get All-Star.

When playing an AC game, there should be a "Your Stats" section next to it. Every time you send a valid score that gives you points in your ranks, your number of wins should increase for that.
Sadly, I'm not sure the site counts how many wins you have per day, just total.
You can also click your rank's icon here: http://www.neopets.com/altador/colosseum/

That tells you how many of which games you'd need to win to get to your next rank.
However, the moment you send a score that updates your rank, your shield should visibly change on the game's page anyway.


Unsure if there are any such "wins/scores/games per day" counters on the site or on fan sites, but yeah.

As for Wheel of Misfortune, there are good prizes possible.
In theory, you might be able to use it to reread this stat increasing Desert Scroll to your pet.

FFD is situational, because it's only 10% off in NPC shops; Not big savings unless you buy from them or restock often. Refreshed Quest Request is good if you have a Faerie's Quest Fortune Cookie....

IMHO, Cartogriphication is pretty good, as is Bank Bribery; Both are free NP.

Some like Cheaper by the Dozen however, for buying stocks cheaper to resell when they go up in value, though.
