Decent comic, the style and the art is pretty damn amazing, especially Judy's ass, just look at that piece of art. The page design is simple, maybe it could be better. The characters are under the pressure of the context, and that's what makes it so weird (instead of being more centered in the relationship of the characters). I get the point of Borba, but the delivery of the drama is the main problem. A good writer and some feedback is the way to go.

Overall, good comic, doesn't seem to be complete disaster (still waiting for the finale) and the edits are amazing.

I'll agree that people are blowing it out of proportion, but I wouldn't say it is a great comic, or even one of the better ones out of the fandom. The art is fantastic, the backgrounds are detailed, but there are times where the expressions can be over dramatic and, quite frankly, ridiculous looking. The characters themselves, even ignoring the cries of OOC (which I still think has some merit), aren't consistent, shifting around their reasons for their actions. Judy keeps going back and forth between "the baby might be too big" (without apparently at least talking to a doctor) to "this is for the greater good" to "my body, my rules". Nick goes from worried about health complications to "you don't know that" to "LET OUR BABY SEE THE LIGHT!" when he has religion slapped into him. They seem to turn from "I love you" to "I don't give a shit about your opinion" and back on the flip of a switch.

It is nowhere near the worst writing I've read, but it still feels like a mess at times.

While I agree that the art is pretty nice, HC, I personally find it, in all the other fields (fidelity to the original source, realism of expressions, interactions and situation, story and so on) to be pretty horrible.
Combined with the ego of the author, comparable in size to the nation he is in, I find the whole pack to be mediocre at best.

If you throw the ultimate conclusion of a subject into it's final form, two things happen;

Interpretive messages are always my favorite for this very reason. Having the reader/viewer/listener draw their own conclusions, in my opinion, adds a whole new layer of entertainment value to the art, and as you said, those kinds of works tend to stick with me a whole lot more than otherwise. As humans, we have the ability -- and actively want -- to make sense of things and detect patterns even where neither are present, and doing so feels rewarding.

For instance, listeners of a certain album may draw their own interpretations on what the message and overarching theme of the album may be, even if the artist says there is none. Even if none of the theories are true, they're still fun to think about. If the artist simply said, "this is exactly how the plot goes", there's nothing in it for the listeners. You might as well just go ahead and say that this is how you're supposed to enjoy the album, too.
