This episode was baffling. Not in the premise or the fact that Ronnie-Anne's moving, just Lincoln's reaction. It makes sense for Lori and Bobby, and there's a rhyme and reason for why Lori's okay with it, but Lincoln... why is he being so callous? Save for talking with her on the laptop, he doesn't seem to give a fuck about her at all. I know they're not really in a relationship, but they're still friends, right? I thought there'd be some dialogue where he was struggling to put his acquaintance with her in perspective, where he wished he could have done some things differently, and then she'd tell him not to worry or SOMETHING. I'm sure there's an explanation for all this that will come later, because as of right now I don't know what to make of it. They can do something like introduce and then reduce a character's importance, have her move to another STATE, but they can't keep two-dimensional characters in character. And they can't keep Lincoln in character.

Is it too much to ask to want to get interested in characters by not feeling like I have to start all over again every episode because they keep changing the characters' motivations and logic, jesus christ. I'm not asking for lore, I'm just asking to watch the same fucking character.

Of course, but still, the guilt from that has to be crazy. It's gonna eat her UP in the car. She couldn't wait seven hours? Just seven hours and she wouldn't be in this horrible funk. She just wanted to teach Lincoln about kissing and get along with girls so he wouldn't be eaten alive by middle school. But one thing led to another, and then they fucked. It all happened so fast. And now she's on a long car ride, out of state, with her boyfriend looking right at her, beaming with a smile. He thinks she's crying because she'll miss her family. She hopes to god he keeps thinking that.

Honestly Lincoln and Ronnie Ann never felt right to me. In fact, Lincoln was never really a great friend to her outside of the April Fools day episode.

In "Save The Date" he was embarrased to be around her, and even made the same mistake twice in the episode. In "Dance dance resolution" he dodged her the whole episode just because he had something he wanted to do. In "shell shocked" he doesn't even trust her as he goes through the trouble of making a replacement egg. And lastly in this episode he doesn't act like he gives a shit about her leaving. It's just like, "Oh your family is pretty cool, I'd move if I were you". I don't think any true friend would say this to someone they really enjoyed being around, especially when it's clear that it isn't what they want.

On the whole, I feel empty about this episode. On one hand I knew this was the route they were going to go with along with RA and Lincoln not officially an item, I prepared my jimmies accordingly. Plus if the message they were going with is "Love your family" and "the people you care about can part ways", they've succeeded.

But to be honest the other part of me wanted to think the ep would end in with Ronnie Anne not moving and push further ronniecoln. But that seems not to be. Seriously. They build up this ship, promoted the Casagrandes like hell and gave RA the spotlight. Something given to no other side character in the show. With the payoff being her moving.

My hope is that ronniecoln is still a possibility and this is just a cliff hanger but who knows. The overall message that they were trying to pull is clouded with the possibility that RA is the biggest red herring of a love interest in animation history.

So while I'm not buttmad about the outcome, I just feel empty about it.

But there was no blatancy about any such secret relationship. The apology in both Save the Date and Heavy Meddle had a heart, but there was nothing that said they had any plans on being in a relationship, or even pursuing a secret one. Only their families ever try to push it, but they've always been just friends, and neither of the kisses ever changed that.
