Would you guys be interested in hearing original flute/guitar/piano music composed specifically for this fandom?
Man, that Noots fanfic. Started out ok, standard "Nick in Bunnyburrow" type of story. But then everybody is progressively grow more and more out of character to the point of Nick seriously contemplating robbing Hoppses blind.
(Shilling again for new thread)
Well, after a massive hiatus, I, OfficerFox, have finally written something again!
'The On Time Vulpine' focuses on Zootopia's criminal underworld, where plenty of less-than-legal services can be hired. One of these, is a certain courier. Anything that he can carry, from one side of town to the other in under an hour: subtlety is a maybe. However, if you need something fast, he's the one to call.

its going to be two pages version and is going to come wedsnesday, hopefully ending there with Nique and Jode miserable forever, abloo bloo bloo (bonus point for Judy dropping the title as reference to Nick) since he "dared to see the epic conclusion!" of it.
Worst case scenario we get a fucking "to be continued".
>>9604080
ikr
To be fair, I don't know of any good Zoot comics, bar the official ones.
JiD is just poorly written repetition of the movie with abloo turned on turbo mode.
Intersomethig, the Max 12:00 am comic is all about horrifying special snowflake mary sue OC now, and lazy art.
Various furry porn comics are just pretending to be related to Zootopia, but are really just regular gay furry porn.
WUTB I personally find meh so far, rather boring with some mild forced OOC moments for Bonnie. Again, this particular one is just my personal opinion. I know there are some anons who are super triggered when people are criticizing either WUTB or Mead, because they are apparently off limits.
There's Pack Street, but that is all OC and I think of it as being in its own category.
And Borba, the Commander of Mature Discussions.
So far the only good comic/manga content I've seen has come from jap artists.

>>9605069

>>9605239

>>9604436
There is also;
Shocking Developments, aka make Nick look like an incompetent idiot at every turn and probably insert shock collars somewhere
Sunderance
Broken Mask, which really just depends if you can ignore the dubious premise
And never to update with actual pages but keep the side comics coming, BlackJack
...is True Love still a thing?
>So far the only good comic/manga content I've seen has come from jap artists
The japanese artists are usually more hit than miss, though mainly because there isn't many long-term comics coming from them. Dogear is the only one pumping out constant Zootopia stuff that is loosely connected together, there is that one comic of Nick going to BunnyBurrow, there is a comic called "The Lastening" that has a lot of pages to it but I haven't taken the time to read it... I think that is it, as far as anything that isn't a short comic.
I would fucking love to see ipoke do a Zootopia comic, but they are spending all their time on Forest Tails so eh.
Anybody else read all those PS authors on AO3?
>>9605683
Sure do, Anon.
>>9605162

>>9605048
Yeah, the window and the tables are a bit too much, but honestly, Nick private life is a big unknown in the movie. I could see him having a big apartment, he was involved with Mr Big at some point and was respected enough not to get Iced instantly or hunted down.
Honetly I'm not complaining, a lot of comics have Nick and Judy on raggedy small apartments, which is fine, but when you put it on a beautiful scenario it is kinda nice too. Especially if you're putting a lot of working on lightning, painting, shading and design.
>>9605811

I like the late night idea because it's just so broad and open.
You could even make a bad weather story with that theme, but it would just have to be late at night.
I think there's sort of a big gap between CCs voting for drawing something and voting for writing something. Personally, I would never vote for food/cooking because it so much more difficult to write a story about that than just drawing a picture. Writing things in general is a lot more difficult than coloring and shading a one-off picture, and you get a lot less (You)'s.

Well there are thing's like malfunctions/power surge's/maintenance that can possible buger up the City's weather.
I mean it has been done before. BoneyM had his "Winter Snuggles" Fic where Judy and Nick were trapped in their apartment due to The Wall having an issue with and needed to be shut down. Thus a massive blizzard happened, which is arguably the only reason they ever got together to begin with.
I think there was a fic or two that had Savannah Central and/or Sahara Square under going a massive heat surge due to the wall not doing it's job.

Everyone has their preferences, so it's normal that someone skip a theme if they don't feel inspired, it happened since the first TT.
There are themes that are easier for writing and others that are easier for drawing.
I will not tell my preferences (at least not in a non-anonymous form) since I don't want to influence the voting, but I have those too.
I always try to do something regardless of the theme, and I urge you all to do too. Even a simple green or a sketch are nice additions. Try, you have nothing to lose.

Which Pack Street character is most likely to be bi?
>>9608275
No. The Blue Pill is fucking listening to the patriarchy you dumb fuck. It's being plugged into the matrix. The Red Pill is waking up to how unfair everything is. You should really read a comic called Sinfest to understand.

Excuse me, you can't use that word. This isn't a Hindu website. It's a Christian/Jewish one. You're probably some white cis shit so you're not allowed to appropriate the culture. Don't do it again.

>>9606899

>>9608303
The real question is who's most likely to have a flat smooth surface where their genitals should be?
>>9608106
Bottom. Art always draw attention, it's a fact. Posts with pictures, especially fresh ones, always get a lot of attention. Giving the character and settings more often than not lead to some viewers because "omg my ship" or "omg i love stuff with shorty squad/pack street/max midnight!", setting too since people can go expecting the normal then it turns out to be an au or something, same for genre since some themes can go really different.
Description is SO FUCKING IMPORTANT and people just drop a link expecting people to care, yeah sometimes I'm in a really read mood and can end up going in blind. But then I find "OC <a> and OC <b> really REALLY slow startup" to the level I'm just wondering if this will ever pick up, I skim half of it and more names were added and I'm just wondering if it will ever be interesting. A description that can tell me what I'm in for is fucking important, I won't go in a boring slice of life that changes into a heartwrenching thriller one-shot and drop it midway because it's just setting everything up until 4/5 of it.
A citation of it, especially when you pick a part important enough to lead someone to be interested to read it (Let me take a certain trainwreck for example, ">Judy covered her mouth as her lover fell to the ground, before she could even process what was happening she was already begging for his forgiveness. 'I lost my temper! Please forgive me!' But he when he got on his feet again, he refused to even look at her, the claw marks on his face causing the bunny stomach to turn."). It's easy to pick apart one part out of context in the fic to make people interested.
That is how I feel at least, most of the ones that really make me interested have at least one of those "extra" features.

The people here who read will read. The vast majority of people who don't or won't unless it's Pack Street give zero shit about you and your story.
Convince me otherwise by getting Pack Street numbers on your fic this next TT.

Well, I'm only One person, but I was legitimately just joking. I love PS, but if you post a Zoot fic that sounds interesting, I'll totally read it. 90% of zoot fics are just all the same, or badly written.
What IS the best way to shill a fic?
I like what >>9608478 went over but what other ways can you get attention to your writing?
IIRC some anons posted fics under anonymous pastebins that became popular, and others I see shill with images and everything that get zero (you)s. So what is the best thing to do?
>>9608223

>>9608917
If people talked about other fics like they did Pack Street I'd read them to join the conversation. But nobody talks about anything but Pack Street.
If fics we're good people would talk about it. Like video games, you going to trust a trailer or what people say on /v/?
>>9609015
Depends on how well known and good at writing you are.
See, Zorotokon updated one time, and some anon just went "There's a new Remmy Makes a Mistake out..." And immediately people flock his AO3 page.
>>9609005
Hey FF, it's been a while. How's life? Caught up with everything going on here?
>>9609058
Dude.
Perhaps you didn't read the "I love Pack Street, but if you have a Zoot fic that sounds interesting I'll read it" part.
>>9609011
honestly, i dont care. writers whining about not getting attention, whining about having to spare five minutes writing a description for measly worthless five readers, whining that artists put one tenth of the work they put in writing but get way more attention, whining over trying to hit an artist for a exchange or just getting someone on discord to do it for free, id be surprised if suggesting to edit an image with the artist permission resulted in writers whining it was too much work for a fic for maybe one more worthless reader. who builds reputation? nobody reads for the author here, right?
everything is too much work, better to whine.
>>9609198
>whining over trying to hit an artist for a exchange or just getting someone on discord to do it for free
That's rude as shit.
Do not pester artists for free art.
>>9609074
ironic to use /v/ since theyll spam garbage games that get shilled a lot even if they are shit. but yes, weaver only wrote stuff, he dropped a link on a thread without any information, and suddenly he magically gained a following.
>>9609215
Just go through them. You've only got so many emails.
>>9609273
yes, i meant spam the artist, not ask if anybody was taking requests or if someone want to work collab. dox them if you must, doom.
So is Finnick's nickname Nick?
Artists, would you find it rude if someone asked you to collaborate on making a title card for their fic?
Would you open requests for people specifically looking for art for their fic?
>>9609374
>Free Art
lol No.
I also don't care about your garbage fics, anon is seriously smoking some serious pot if he thinks someone would create fancontent for free.
So would it be a bad idea if I submitted a pre-posted fic for TT?
Essentially, I had this really cool idea for a fic, and it's already partially written. But the thing is, I'm kinda impatient on posting it, and it's spy/secret agent themed. So if I post it, and Spy/ Secret Agent wins, R.I.P
>>9609402
>writing
is it remmy being a spy?
>>9609374
Most you can ask for is to do it, post, and hope an artist likes it enough to do free art. Any other situation you'd be paying.
>>9609374
>would you find it rude
If they took no for an answer or would pay me then no it's not rude.
But honestly expecting me to draw your fic is like me saying you should write me a comic script, it's asking too much
Give me Finnick porn that'd make a mother cry.
>>9609456
>But honestly expecting me to draw your fic is like me saying you should write me a comic script, it's asking too much
I would jump at the opportunity to collaborate with an artist and I think almost every other writer would too.
How about everyone post a Zootopia fic/series that you like? Completed or ongoing, doesn't matter.
I will always point towards the "Guardian Blue" series ( http://archiveofourown.org/series/678305 ) as one of my favorites in the fandom so far. Spanning over 4 stories at the moment, the first two being relatively short, but overall has little under 300K words to it in total at the moment. Slow burn, good humor, and doesn't fall into tropes of "Bellwether coming back" or "Jack cucking" (I feel like I have to add that last part, and it makes me sad).
Summary of the first story in the series, Thanks for the Fox;
>When Nick suddenly refuses an assignment from Bogo, he's forced to reveal an extremely painful glimpse of his past to both his boss and his partner. Judy wants more than anything to help him, but Nick does not want her involved in such a personal issue. Stubborn as always, she involves herself anyway and discovers something unbelievable that may light the fox's way through his darkest days.
>>9609374
No, don't pester artists. Some take requests because they can choose to do what they want, to pretentiously request something directly is disgusting. Don't fall for it, else the artists on discord are going to go hidden to avoid getting people requesting free shit because you made some drawing for someone once.
>>9609464

Why
>>9609744
It does involve him, but he isn't the spy. And he's in danger because of it.
How is there not a single response of "yeah it would be fun to draw a title card or something"?
I thought people were trolling but seriously? No artist wouldn't want to at least try doing that?
>>9609668
Because artfags get attention easily while writefags are desperate for it. It's a situation where the artfag is degrading himself, while the writefag is desperately grasping for any attention. Even worse, if the writefag writes like shit (not rare), you get flak for it (people blame rem for aoi garbage) and if the comic is well written you get whining from the artist because their name isn't bigger since they were the ideas guy. It's a lose lose situation.
>>9609757
>>9609800

No.
>>9609698
Seems to be the general consensus.
>>9609833

>>9609488
Could I post a double set?
"New Directions" by Selaxes (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12003642) and it's prequel "Nothing to Fear" (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11974753)
It's a pretty solidly fluffy and romantic double parter (The third part is really fucking unhappy), and I can't even remember the number of times I have read the both of them whenever I either feel sad or need something to forget about some of the shit I have read.
And then "It Can't be Helped" (http://archiveofourown.org/works/8668324) Told almost completely through Judy's eye's, as Nick constantly displays vulpine tendencies directed towards her. Most recent chapter has her finally understanding the grave importance of everything that Nick has done to her.

>>9610159

>>9610218
I swear to god if Martina is an actual person I will physically manifest inside Weaver's dreams and kick his ass
>>9609800
i don't know why people are being so hostile about it, its not like if someone asks you if you want to collaborate you're then forced to do it, and the people saying "why should i ever do something for free?" just come off as super full of themselves to me
personally i think it could be fun to work on a title card or something for a writer, especially if it was a story or theme i was interested in, my only reservation would be if it was something i was completely uninterested in, but then i could just say no anyway
>>9610179
You idiot, how have you still not realized that Marty is just a muppet. It's all an act put up by Charlie to scam people, though to be fair she's actually really good at throwing her voice and covering up the seams...

>>9610630
You mean like this?
Hi, /ztg/! Falke here with a comfy story for you. I asked you all for wildehopps green prompts like a week ago, and I finally got around to finishing up a story in which Judy rides on Nick's shoulders for reasons, and in which they take a ride on a Ferris wheel. It became a bit more than a green.
>"Left!"
>"What?"
>Judy looked down and prodded gently at his ear. "Go left! I can see the Ferris wheel over there."
>"No ice cream first?"
>"No time! Hurry!"
>Nick bore them left, through the press of mammals of all ages and sizes that were still thick on the field, even this time of night.
>Carrot Days were a production - even more so than they'd been when Judy had still lived here. It seemed that every year, the grounds sprawled wider. More attractions went up, more cooks and vendors brought exotic treats, and more mammals came to enjoy themselves.
>And it was tricky, navigating the crowds when you were three times taller than usual. But they made it work. Nick focused on carrying her, and she steered. At least they got a bit of a berth with her on his shoulders.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/6727384/chapters/24607176
>>9609531
Mmmmaybe. I won't rule anything out right here and now, but my answer would depend on who they were, how much I was working on myself at the time, what they wanted from me and, crucially, how much narrative control I would retain.
Taking inspiration from pieces or getting little prompts and nudges is one thing, but this is a hobby for me. I worry it would start to feel like work if I can't tell the stories I wanted to, or had to deliver stuff on deadlines or to fit constraints. And probably worse, I'd end up feeling like I was imposing on my partners. I tend to assume others feel the same way I do about these sorts of things.

Not at all! in fact, i asked a writer if he wanted some help on the title card on the last TT. I'm always interested in working with someone.
If any writer/artist/anon/Rich Moore is interested to work with me on the next TT, i'm looking some for collaboration!

I'm late to the writer discussion but to all the writers out there, sorry you're targeted so much and sorry you don't get enough recognition for the effort you put into your stuff.
I take the bus to and from school and its an hour ride either way, and I read during it. I used to just shitpost till I came to these threads.
Thanks for that. I'd draw or do something for you if I could but all I really am is one of the people who shows up on your views counter. Just letting you know I'm here at least.

Even though I understand where they're coming from, I still think this is a really shitty thing to do.
I've known lot of people in the server that have to vent about that sort of stuff just to be able to get through their day.
Anyone is also free to give their advice to try and help other people there.
I'm scared that by forcing these people to bottle up their emotions, they're setting up ticking time bombs that ultimately turns their plans of self-harm into an inevitable reality.
TT anon, do your magic thread header changey thing, idk what it's suppose to be

I'm sure plenty of people have just vanished from these threads, even, since blogposting so so thoroughly hated.
It doesn't matter. They weren't getting anything but empty words, anyway. Like people addicted to heroine, they just liked the feeling of being noticed, even if it was ultimately harmful.
should we even be making a new thread yet?

There are currently zero mental health specialists and behavioral therapistd on Discord.
Saying you had a rough day is one thing. Needing to be talked down from cutting or killing yourself is another. It is absolutely not anyone's job to do that. They suffer from mental health issues and should seek professional treatment. It would be equally fucked if they broke an arm and everyone did amateur medicine instead of telling them to get an ambulance.
>>9612263
Should we even make a new thread? I think we've had a good enough ride and it's about time to put this general to rest.

>Like I said: Anyone is free to give their own advice.
You are allowing people to do more harm than good by telling untrained professionals to give advice to people suffering from mental disorders.
If the best advice they can get is to call a crisis hotline then the best way to motivate them is with a big mod statement that that's what they have to do. They can PM people otherwise if they don't want to do that.
