I was pretty sure Flash was his friend, Finnick was softcanon said to be just business partners, until the Finnick + Nick comic is translated we will have to accept that as the only description for their relationship.

I think since the movie focus too much on them and the movie plot, it's kinda hard to know if either of them had close friends before. Some people write Judy as Miss Sunshine with billions of friends, other write her as the black sheep "bunny-cop" crazy. Same with Nick, some write him as "know everyone" and thus have tons of friends and contacts, even if not close friends, other write him as hated by everyone and his friends are just people who he knows but hasn't conned, yet.

I feel like Nick probably knows a ton of people that he can just go up to and say "Hey, how are you?" but no one he really regularly hangs out with. No one that is really close to him, since he likes to keep his cards close to his chest. Nick obviously has some charm, since he can con people into buying stuff from him despite the fact that he is a fox, so I doubt he has many people who actually hate him personally.

For Judy, I think she probably has some friends, but to the majority of bunnies in Bunnyburrow they probably find her weird. Not enough for black sheep status, but they keep their distance from her. She can come off as somewhat intense, but she is still a pretty cheerful and friendly person.

Not that anon, but at least concerning Sunderance, it isn't as bad as IWS but it has a similar problem to it. Nick and Judy feel less like themselves and more of someone using them as puppets. In addition to that, the story hasn't given enough background information to understand or justify certain actions within the world, like how a single species gained so much power within a city that they could outright ban another species from it. Throw in the slow pacing and the sexual tension up the ass, and it just seems like a mess.

Broken Mask is a little better, depending on your feelings of the pseudo-rape/molesting. Though the fic, Savage Dark, constantly shifts focus from Nighthowler plot to "SEX" every few chapters.

Adventure in Zootropolis was a nice example of a comic coming in, doing what it needs to do (a fox helping a bunny overcome her fear) and not overstaying its welcome. Same thing with Who Lost Everything.
