Now that we've reached this arbitrary milestone of 10 threads, I think we should all sit back and consider whether new threads are worth making depending on the activity here.
I personally think that we're struggling to find new stuff to post at this moment and that there is nothing wrong about everyone just bookmarking the pastebin in the OP and trying to recreate these threads some months later once Stories and XX become localized. That's assuming they create a burst of new interest and content.

Barroth, I think? That or Los. Those two forced me to learn patience and to not just charge in blindly and with no consideration. Going back to play FU with a gunlance helped drill that into me more since max health was harder to come by and taking hits was more costly in general.

It'd depend on the speed of the transformation I'd guess. If it was slow I might try to make it to the base camp to jauge how other hunters might react and from there either run away or try going back depending on how freaked out they are.

If it was too fast or I was welcomed to the base camp with the proverbial torches and pitchforks, I'd put my survival skills to use and avoid hunters at all costs while hoping the transformation gets undone, clinging to humanity. I'd probably end up developing some serious neurosis while clinging to whatever I still think makes me human, but that'd be likely how it would go down.

If I had the misfortune of running into hunters, I'd do my best to show myself to be docile and display my inteligence. Trying to write in the dirt or mimicking gestures. Or something.

But I do have a new Lagiacrus story in the works with a much mellower ending than my usual fare. Just gotta stop procrastinating and making excuses, but it's something I've been pouring so much heart into that it's almost scary to buckle down and get to work on it. Because I fear I could never do it justice.
I've also been toying with the idea of making a "sequel" to that short Zinogre thing. One in a much more hopeful tone. Dunno when or if I'll get around to it, but people have shown interest in seeing a conclusion.

I was, and still am, an amateur and wrote it over the course of, like, three or four hours so the ending was rushed as fuck. I could barely stand to look back over it for fear of getting caught in the usual perfectionism loop.
While I wanted to end it on a positive note the leap from "why is that monster not attacking us" to "EYYYY IT'S OUR GUY" was rather sudden, even if it did feel like an appropriate endpoint reaction for a tight-knit community like Moga.

The idea of hunters TF'd into monster-people (and monsters in general, but that's a slightly different topic) is one I'd like to explore. There's a bunch of angles to work with: how many would rely on their natural weapons, abilities and armour over manufactured gear? What kind of prejudices would they face and how would they deal with them? Would they even want to return to the hunting life post-TF, or be allowed to? (To name just a few)

You've got a whole sliding scale from "Looks like a person-shaped monster, still mostly 'human' in mindset and personality" to "almost completely feral, only thing tying them to their old humanity is their shape" to work with here. Same goes for full-blown monster TF, really, it's why I find the subject so appealing.

50-60% on the first. The general concept of building and upgrading an arsenal of gear and a settlement by killing cool monsters appealed to me, although I was pretty intimidated by the unforgiving nature of the fights. That the game had cool and/or sexy monsters in it as well was a nice lure.

20-30% on the second. The fights were fun, the progression loop engaging, and the fact that the game actually demanded I learn it in order to do well meant that overcoming the walls and the challenges was really satisfying, grinding moments aside.

Meant to reply to this earlier: I'm into scaly things and lagiacrus is an interesting mix of a bunch of nice aesthetics. It's got that long serpentine neck with the cobra-like hood, the head's shaped rather nicely, I really dig the design of the scales along the back, and the colour scheme is very nice. It also has an absolutely kickass roar.
There are many other sexy monsters, but lagi will always have been my first.
