It's a family tree. It's a visual record of people deemed important enough to be included as members of a family. It's not an official document - if it were, we'd never have all these shows where kids make their family trees from those who raise and love them instead of their blood kin.
You can make it completely accurate, but you're not required by law to do so (at least not in this country). Let the government do that. Family is not always related by blood, and blood relatives can lose their right to be recognized as part of a family if they're big enough assholes.

This is me. Literally me. No other character can come close to relating to me like this. There is no way you can convince me this is not me. This character could not possibly be anymore me. It’s me, and nobody can convince me otherwise. If anyone approached me on the topic of this not possibly being me, then I immediately shut them down with overwhelming evidence that this character is me. This character is me, it is indisputable. I think people give too much credit to it. There are plenty of fics that are way too long and don't really need to be.
I follow Anton Chekhov's advice and try to put only the elements that are needed into the story. If it doesn't work thematically or moves the story forward, might as well not add it at all.
My longest project right now is around 50k words (along the lenght of Lord of the Flies), and even then I find it a bit longer than it should be someitmes.

People tend to forget that "practice" doesn't mean "draw/write over and over until you gitgud", it means learning techniques, observing and taking notes, reading or listening about the theory that sorrounds it and doing all that will grant you an understanding of what you're actually doing on your craft.
Some people would like to write/draw/play music or whatever, but not everyone wants to get through all the work it takes to get to a decent level.

I know that pictures are easier to digest (sometimes), so I think that's a given. But the way people tend to talk about it, it seemed to me most think that there's less artistic merit on writing than in drawing.

Honestly a majority of my work are conceptual pieces for stories. Things i try to illustrate but i feel would be more entertaining in a literary format.
