It's cliche as fuck, naive young girl, older cynical guy, end up in love. Tangled specially.

The difference is that Tangled confirmed them as a couple and I didn't really care for it, Judy and Nick on the other hand ended up just friends but unknown where the relationship goes and I really enjoy seeing stuff that puts them as a couple.

They'll probably sour it if Zootopia 2 ever get made, make them a couple, not that interesting anymore. Make them go with someone else, the shift to give the other characters more attention removes screentime from Judy/Nick shenanigans and end up being bad. Make them not care about one another and not relationship, people assume they don't care that way about each other.

I wouldn't mind if they made WildeHopps canon, as long as the process isn't "awkward teenagers like each other" tropes, or the result is "kissy kissy every five minutes I love you sly fox/bunny". Have them act as they did in the first movie, with playful quips back and forth and genuine moments of caring (sky tram scene, bridge scene, Judy putting the badge on Nick) spaced out. They can be a couple, but don't shove it into our face or focus on it, just make it a part of their relationship.

And, of course, finally get an in-movie tie pull scene.
