I'm having trouble figuring out a situation where Skye directly saves Jack's life.
What could she do as a mechanic to save him?

Best I could come up with is that Skye rigs a car to work so that they could escape a dangerous area but Jack could easily do that himself with his spy training. Unless he was injured and Skye was the only person capable of getting them out.

Other situations involve typical action-spy-movie cliches that are too unrealistic for my taste.

Doesn't have to necessarily be a car. She could be familiar with engines in general, and repairs a defunct fishing boat or something to escape while Jack buys time. Or does some fancy mechanic thing to the vehicle to give them the edge they need. This I like. Skye appears to be pragmatic and simple which can be a great contrast to Jack's flashy attitude. But I still dislike the super-spy premise. Never found that theme appealing when it comes to fanfiction.

I can't stand bad fanfiction, I try to take it with the same amount if heart the author put in it. Clopperella just wrote a quick one-shot called "It Could Have Been Worse." It's a nice little heart to heart. The only thing that bugs me is Judy calls herself Nick's senior officer, even though she would only have a couple months seniority over him at best.
Fics that put Judy and Nick on unequal ground are also kinda deal breakers for me.

There aren't many long-form fics that I'd recommend personally. Usually those might start off strong and have a solid satisfying conclusion. But something happens over the course or at the climax that just shits the bed.

I could see inter-hate happening in Zootopia. Stu expressed a distrust and fear of all predators before the pred scare and the scare itself is proof that there are some lingering negative feelings about other species. Even when interracial marriage was legalized, there were still people who hated it and even now there are young people who don't like it.

She has an annoying propensity to have Judy be a stereotypical "strong female character", as in she props up Judy at the expense of Nick. In pretty much all of her fics Judy is a superior cop in every way and Nick is basically her sidekick, when she writes them married, Nick for some reason takes Hopps name, he's submissive to judy overall, etc. That kind of stuff is offputting to me, personally. And in this one-shot she has Judy basically tell Nick he's not good enough to be a cop because he broke an arm and brag about how badass she is and how she is "glad to be an idol".

Honestly, when I first read it, I was surprised that it wasn't straight out "too late". I get love is strong and makes you forgive a lot but, if I were Nick in that situation, I would have been really hesitant entering a relationship with Judy after all that. I guess it would have been a bit too angst and tragic if Nick rejected her/moved on. Not to mention how embarrassing it would have looked for Judy if Nick said "No" when she confesses in front of everyone in the bullpen and says she already told her parents.

I don't know, it is slightly jarring for me when I see the whole "misunderstanding" trope, and either Nick or Judy instantly forgive the other, getting together right afterward.

At the very least Judy's neighbors were hilarious.

Jack reveals her success on the mammal case (the conference) motivated him to be more of a desk jock and actually get stuff done, even if nobody believed him, and that Wilde becoming an officer later made him finally commit on going rogue to help everyone, even if everyone turned on him.
With his help, they manage to escape and solve the case that had brought him there.
Nick keeps teasing Jack over everything and Jack stop the embarrassing asskissing.
They say goodbyes on the train and Nick glue a junior officer on Jack chest, everybody makes mistakes etc.
He hugs Nick and Judy.
He drops his pants and fuck Judy pregnant before dashing into the train and leaving station.

That's a good way of putting it. The author is being edgy on purpose not to tell the world how dark and brooding and cool he is, but just to write/draw an edgefest for giggles and because that's what his artstyle lends well to and he enjoys it.

There are amazing stories out there that get zero discussion.
We talk about TIWTLLL every new page, even if it's just more of them staring out into space.
I would legitimate be surprised if the majority of people here read fics in order to enjoy reading them and not hunting for cringe.

Take /co/ for example, they never talk about Nedroid even though it's unanimously seen as one of the greatest webcomics on the internet
On the other hand, they have constant threads for series they despise, like Assigned Male

There's just a lot of shit that gets in the way of writing bring an enjoyable experience.
It takes a long fucking time to do right.
Most people don't read. That's just a fact.
Those that do are usually looking for very specific stuff. Certain page length, characters, most just want pure lewd which is fucking boring to write.
Even if you write exactly what people want you'll at most get a "thanks". There's no write tennis because honestly that's not fun, it's less like drawing a comic one panel at a time and more like drawing a body part at a time, and that's a mess to compose.
And yes, people will love to shit on you rather than give you feedback, if any at all.

I wanna add I can't write and be on the threads at the same time. I don't know if it's true for artists but I see people able to talk and post and bounce ideas off while working and I have to take vacations from the thread just to pump out a green. It makes me feel like I'm an outsider.

We have been making fun of Loss for over a decade because it's easy to consume and doesn't take much time to understand the basic premise of the meme
There's also a recent phenomenon on /v/ where they shill Bethesda games using various pictures of Todd Howard. Anyone jumping into a thread can immediately recognize that they're all pretending that Todd is the one shilling for his games, and people have fun with the concept

So what I take from these memes is that anything that generates discussion has to be short and simple, which stories generally are not, which is why we don't see much discussion of them
