I'd like to grant a request over at the drawthread, but I haven't read yet this webcomic and know nothing about it. The request involves drawing two characters named Cornelius and Cathleen in missionary position, with pic related being the ref collage posted with the request. The request hasn't bee renewed yet at the time of writing this post.

Now, I really don't want to fuck up the only request on that drawthread that seems worthwhile to me, so I've come to this thread to garther info and ref pictures. Note that I'll be too busy to start working on the drawing for a couple days, but I'd prefer to clear my doubts early on.

My main question is on their skulls' structure: do basitins (I'm assuming that's what their kind is called from previous versions of the request) have muzzles as long as those shown in the sex position ref? Or is their face human-like like the character refs suggest? My best guess is that the muzzle is subdued/shortish, but that's just me throwing guesses.

Other than that, do they (basitins in general or those characters) have any physical quirk I should take into account while drawing?

I hope I won't trigger anyone with my ignorance.

Muzzles are quite short. It depends on the artstyle era but the modern one has them only protruding a bit from the face. Kind of like a cross between a cat and a rabbit. Certainly not to the extent of the reference.

To be fair none of the fox keidran we've seen have long muzzles and despite Clovis being half wolf his muzzle does look like what a fox should be if they follow real life anatomy. Also calling something a cans muzzle isn't specific enough since as the illustration shows dogs have various sized and shaped muzzels. Final point is that none of the feline keidran actually have their skulls shapes like a feline and in fact look more like a dog so Tom probably didn't know proper anatomy back then and was forced to stick with his old designs.

I think it's plausible that Clovis is becoming unhinged though. Not being able to refer to herself with gendered titles without outing herself is probably a special kind of aggravating.
