I don't know how much it would count but I've beem brainstorming ideas on a Caribbean spanish sharkpeople race for a pirate themed setting. Quick overview of most of what I got is that they're ruled by a matriarch, the female sharks are on average 7 feet while males are around 5 feet in height.

Their religion is a voodoo/chatholism mix, offering caught sea animals as a sacrifice to ensure crops and other good fortune comes, but it can also be used to curse people that wrong them.

Dragons are best at magic, but humans get the most use out of it. It essentially works like this:
>Humans: large mana pools, slow recovery
>Furries: very small mana pools, very fast recovery
>Dragons: amount of mana undetermined, possibly infinite
Because the furries rely more on physical ability, most magic research has been done by humans and the occasional dragon. As such, almost every known spell is cast directly from the mage's mana pool, making it impossible for a furry to learn even the most basic spells without drawing from an external source of power (which can be expensive to have). It's technically possible to gather the mana outside the body and prepare the spell externally, but this is seen as prohibitively dangerous and very slow - it works based on mana regen, so with all the mages being human, it would seem to be incredibly slow; dragons can do it easily, but everyone knows dragons are just kinda bullshit and most are too lazy to actually learn magic anyway.
Human tech often blends magic with mechanical - many things have a basic "framework," and the user merely has to supply it with a burst of magic (e.g. a magic gun uses the user's magic as ammo - the underlying magic works as instructions to turn the raw power into a focused, destructive bolt). Some tools require very, very little initial magic and as such can be used by furries with a basic grasp of how to magic, but these are pretty rare.

Not really, but the setting I stole them from had them and humans be at a pretty savage war, where neither thought the other was worthy of more dignity than uppity cows. There's still old cookbooks, but for the most part none of them eat the other, so the books are mainly used for playground threats ("you'd be a tasty [food]").
It's technically not illegal, but in a "standing on this island is legal, but crossing the body of water around it isn't" sort of way.
