This is going off-topic, but having tracked your art since your Plasma-Snake days, there seems to be a point where your drawing skill took a significant leap and has been on an upswing ever since.

It's kind of a combination of both. I only really started improving once I started paying attention. There was a portion of my deviantArt career where I just drew solely to get things out on the internet for people to ogle and for me to get comments and faves and praise and bump me closer to 1 million pageviews. Then I realized that I was fucking stupid and I was wasting my time and I actually LOOKED at what I was doing and actively tried to improve. I was getting "practice" in my former endeavor to get views, but without direction the practice was useless. Once I started studying and trying and changing, things started to click and have kept clicking ever since. Had I never stopped and looked at what I was doing, I very may well have turned into one of those high-volume/low-quality guys.
Downside of things "clicking" is that you're now on the Ability Curve Of Occasional Self-Doubt And Loathing. Your ability to evaluate and dissect art in your mind increases independently of your ability to draw. When your ability to look gets ahead of your ability to draw, it fuckin' sucks and you feel like your art is garbage. Good news is that as long as you stick with it you'll always hit the "click" when the blue curve starts heading up. I've done this enough times where I feel that's where I am now, but we'll see.
Also, I mostly keep my old dA gallery because I want to be reminded of all my awful old shit. Constantly. Gotta go fast.

I kinda switched names because of pony shit and embarrassment, but it ended up that I just got bored of humans and draw almost exclusively furry stuff now. What did you mean by Direction? What did you study? Try? It all sounds very vague to me. I would like to know since it would perhaps help me level up and git more gud.

It's vague because it's personal, whatever you find works best for you. By "direction" I mostly mean just actively evaluating what you do as you strive to improve, using any references that you like. Without "direction" I was just drawing what was in my head without even thinking if it looked goofy or not. I just assembled the parts in a way that looked okay. Looking up refs and studying anatomy and actually learning from it helped me understand WHY the parts were assembled the way they were, and how I could tweak things to my own benefit in a way that looked good.
Out of all the anatomy books I used, I found this one to be the most helpful. But, again, it's whatever helps you understand things the best, and that's the one that worked for me. You'll hear people say "you need Loomis," which I tried and hated for some reason. So to me Loomis is annoying and not very useful, but who knows. Look around /ic/ for art book resources if they still have links, been forever since I've gone. Just shop around until you get something that resonates with you. And in general, reference everything. Art isn't a closed-book test, anyone who would tell you that is stupid.

Yeah, not gonna go with a kobold. More so because she'd look goofy standing next to Patience and Cinnamon than because KP exists.
Also, if anyone else wants to throw things at me for new character suggestions I'd be ecstatic. My scope can be kinda narrow sometimes and I like a lot of the suggestions people throw at me. Mustelids and corgis seem to be popular from the tumblr side of things, but I don't think I'll go with another dog unless I hit a design I really like.
