About the only thing you won't find in Texas is a rainforest. Much of it gets snow, there's lots of green, lots of desert or near desert.

You can't change human nature, and attempting to do so has only hurt humanity as a result.
Helping those incapable of helping themselves doesn't suddenly turn them into productive citizens, but it does use up resources we could use to further ourselves.
