Pretty much none of the main-ish characters have motives outside of Pearl and Jasper and that has always been an issue I had with the show, none of the characters are that great when you actually think about it. Somehow, they claim to enjoy the show, despite their complete lack of ability to weigh the good and bad aspects of the show, instead focusing entirely on and magnifying the negative.
