Queen Chrysalis moaned as another slice of cake was forced into her maw. Her tired jaws chewed desperately, trying to gulp it down before another was stuffed into her face.

The changeling queen lay helplessly in the middle of town, pinned to the ground by her massively swollen belly. Her plump, flabby limbs wiggled helplessly, barely able to reach the cobblestones. Every inch of her flesh was stretched taut with flab, while her gut creaked and groaned as it struggled to contain an ever-increasing quantity of half-digested sweets.

The catlike citizens of Wuvey-Dovey Land crowded around their captive Queen. Each smiling creature held a plate weighed down with delicious, fattening treats, all baked with extra love and affection. They chatted excitedly while waiting for their turn to feed the changeling monarch.

Tears of fear and anger welled in Chrysalis' eyes as a parade of sickeningly love-sweet pastries was crammed into her chubby face. Beyond the crowd stretched dozens of piles of green goop and shattered chitin, all that remained of her changeling swarm. She and her drones had landed in Wuvey-Dovey Land after their failure to capture Canterlot; Chrysalis had then commanded the swarm to feed on its citizens to regain their strength. Unfortunately, the Queen had underestimated the unbounded generosity of these catlings, and one by one her drones had swelled up and burst under the weight of such bottomless affection. Now she was the only one left.

The entire village's worth of love was now soaking into the Queen's hopelessly swollen body. Endless slices of cake, pie, and pastries, ice cream and candies, were crammed into her fat, helpless face. Chrysalis' belly groaned as it spread wider and rounder, the bands of her belly stretching thinner and thinner. Chrysalis' flesh creaked dangerously as it struggled to contain the fatty digested love. Bubbles of green love goo formed in her leg holes, while green ichor leaked from her mouth and rear.

"We love the changelings! We love our Queen!" the catlings cried.

"You've fed...your queen...too much love!...now...she's going...to burst!" Chrysalis warbled desperately to them.

The creatures paid her no mind, giving another cheer as a massive milkshake was held up and poured into the changeling's shocked mouth. Chrysalis could feel her flesh separating with each massive gulp of creamy chocolate. Her belly rumbled ominously as it could hold no more.

At the very last gulp of milkshake Queen Chrysalis burst apart, showering the frightened citizens of Wuvey-Dovey Land with a torrent of green goop.

Maybe there's an element of BDSM to your enjoyment of inflation? My image of this is that the pony being filled up with whatever doesn't represent the stock's wealth, but the pony ITSELF represents the stock's wealth. A spell is put on them to have their body blow up as the value increases. Now that may not sound very cliche and simple, but just imagine the pony who works at Wall Street (what's the pony term for Wall Street) who walks around having to waddle with their belly squishing against their legs, many ponies watching them as they waddle by, occasionally bumping into them, being rolled if they get too big to transport on their own hooves, and being labelled as a stock's representation of their wealth, decline or "bust".

Popping comes in so many forms, and even the reason people enjoy them is different. For instance, the only popping I enjoy is nonfatal, temporary popping.
