Speaking of headcanons I'm a bit confused about the demigods aka the 3 masks. They eachanged are supposed to represent and protect their respected race's but I don't know if they actually created them or a higher power did.

As related to a Mary Sue character like Trace or Keith then yeah. I mean Trace's backstory has been reworked a few times. Something at least as alarming is that Nora supposedly turned a man into a mare during mating season, because he was a chauvinist. He apparently got changed back before anything happened, but that still seems like a very disproportionate punishment for the crime of harassing women.

Karne, being the capital of the Keidran world, was bustling with travelers, merchants, and shoppers alike. Some were selling textiles, others various knick-knacks and trinkets while others displayed rows of weapons. But none of this had Clovis’ attention as her and Zen walked down the cobblestone road. She was focused on the fresh cuts at the meat market. The folf’s nose constantly twitching as the various aromas. She finally stopped when they reached her target, the poultry stand. All manner of birds, plucked, and hanged from the roof of the stand on display. For a moment, the two just stood there. The aged wolf running the stand quipped an ear in confusion.
“Um, can I help you?”
More silence. Zen looked down at his hooded companion.

I love this chapter! I loved how the breakdown scene in the market went. Clovis was being a brat but not to much to feel sorry for her, which I think conveys pretty well what Zen was feeling. The whole thing is funny and cute. Glad you are back to writing!

That is assuming her motivation was punishment rather than revenge for fucking up a dragons party. Nora isn't exactly a moral character, if she was she wouldn't have associated with Evil Trace or treated Mike like a plaything rather then a person.

And those people are hypocrites, just as bad as the sex offender if not action but way of thought. There is a reason an eye for an eye isn't considered a valid form of justice, it perpetuates an endless cycle until leaves everyone blind.

Look at Sansa in GofT and how she dealt with Ramsey. People cheered thinking having die as he had others die was poetic justice but failed to notice that Sansa in a way was becoming the very person she and the audience loathed, she sank to his level and rather then be repulsed by it like she intially looked like she was going to be, she turned back around, watched and enjoyed it. In that moment she became as sadistic and cruel as Ramsey himself, and now look what shes doing; Boosting up her cousin in power like Ramsey did with his father while dealing with a man she despises behind Jons back because she feels she isn't getting enough recognition. Who does that parallel? Ramsey.

Now look at Nora seven years after Dragon Masquerade, she used Mike for her own personal gratification against his will and bending him to hers all the while ignoring what possible consequences there were for him because it made her happy, and Mike was just a thing to amuse her. Who does that sound like? Clovis.

I idea of Nora dishing out punishment to Clovis kind of loses all weight once you realize she didn't sink to his level, she was already there. Is she a bad person? No she isn't a person at all but a dragon, but that is all the more reason she shouldn't be judging people like Clovis in the first place.

I'm not really liking Nora as a person (dragon... Whatever). She obviously sees herself as above morals, especially human ones, and does as she pleases too much. This in turn actually made things worse for the world as she kinda loved the "old" trace that was all evil and maniacal as well as cursing Clovis which set the stage for clovis to instigate a was between the tiger/humans with the wolves as well as clovis now loved sing a very powerful magic stone that who knows what would be done with that other than probably becoming male again. Nora is a chaotic neutral whose actions appear to be too selfish and set the stage for humans causing the extinction of the other races.

To be fair, it may not have been Trace as a person she loved so much as his power. Evil Trace was pretty much the pinnacle of magic humans could achieve, dragons are beings of pure magic so it in a weird way makes sense that she'd find Trace attractive. It wasn't was he doing or who he was which drew her to him, this might have also been the case before he was corrupted. It wasn't Trace himself which drew her to him so much as his magical potential. Shes like a moth to Traces flame, disregarding how potentially damaging he can be to her or everything else should he stop being contained

The truth of the matter is that experts in that field are not not really sure if coyotes and wolves are different species. Coyotes are more distsntly related to wolves than dogs but more so than other cabins including African golden wolves (fomerly golden jackals) the fact that the two species can breed in the wild and have viable offspring seems to show that they are more closely related than previously thought.

It's not so much that I stopped writing but rather got invited to a week long "vacation" for posting in that one lewd sangheili thread over on /v/. Still, gave me time to flesh out the chapter rather than just buzzing through it as quickly as possible.

That goddamn visor design is one of the most impractical things I've seen Tom conceive. Yes it looks neat but it'd get Daniel's fucking killed in a fight.

There is a reason you don't see too many helmets with vertical slits, it severely reduces your field of vision from about 120 degrees down to like 30 or less depending on the width of the slit.

You'd basically be able to sneak right beside Daniels if you were quiet enough and he'd never realize you were there until he turned his head. That kind of makes him shit at his job as a guard. Furthermore in combat he wouldn't even be able to see glancing attacks at all, you might as well blindfold him for anything other than a straight attack.

There's always a temptation to fall abck on stereotypes because in the back of one's head you might think "I know what X looks like" but you still might not be drawing it correctly, or the stereotype you remember might be a bad one, like vertically slotted visors on a helmet. Everyone recognizes that design, but it's actually not a very good one, kind of like how people draw horned helmets on vikings even though it was the gaels who wore them, and not the vikings.

Horizontal slits also limited the field a view but nowhere near as bad as vertical slits. With horizontal slits you still have enough of a view to see the enemies movements enough to anticipate an overhead or underhanded strike and thus prepare for it. With vertical slits though all they'd have to do is a side step and they'd largely be in your blind spot until you turned your head allowing for a glancing blow you'd never see coming. That is why you rarely see helmets with vertical slits, it makes defense less armored or faster opponents untenable.

The hounskull or pigface helmet sometimes had vertical slits but finding a genuine article from the 15th century which hasn't been modified to remove the metal in front of the eyes cut away is pretty rare. Its generally regarded as a shit design due to how badly it limited vision. Its why later examples of hounskull helmets have horizontal slits instead.

People complain how some characters are Mary sue and Gary stus but to me Flora is the biggest culprit of them all. Using a few examples, despite being in slavery for a large part of her life she was relatively well treated off. She happens to be bilingual and for some reason chosen to be a bargening tool for a Tiger/wolf alliance. Pretty much every character on the story likes her like a Mary sue (I won't use this point against hwe though in this case). And recently other than a few other minot stuff she's done all she's really relevant for recently is being pregnant with a possible human hybrid and being a trigger for Trace to go bezerk.

Continuing on this I do think that she is badly written in this story but to be fair I blame a lot of this on how she and trace got most of their characer development early on in the comics when Tom was much younger and not as experienced in story writing compared to now. Wrong. She didn't trigger Trace, her former owner did when threatening Trace directly then again when he tried to apprehend him. This time him going berserk didn't have much to do with protecting Flora.

Flora has also been acting as guide offering the reader info about Edinmire since no other character is really familiar with it

Shes also played the role of mediator between characters, only really messing up with Eric because he was a perv and Keith because he attacked Trace out of anger.

Flora isn't just window dressing, she maybe shallow as a puddle but she does participate in the story
