So how did their family fare?

Well, according to my history book, starting from 1255, Queen Eleanor had sixteen kits! Queen Eleanor children were:

A daughter, name unknown, died at birth.
Catherine, died two years old.
Joan, died six months old.
John, died five years old.
Henry, died six years old.
Eleanor, died 29 years old.
A daughter, name unknown, died five months old.
Joan (a different Joan), died 35 years old.
Alphonso, died at 10 years old.
Margaret, died 58 years old.
Berengeria, died two years old.
A daughter, name unknown, died at birth.
Mary, died 53 years old.
A son, name unknown, died at birth.

For the longest time, nobody knew what caused disease! It wasn’t until the 1850’s that germs were acknowledged to exist. Bad smelling air, curses from witches and warlocks, God’s wrath, and karma were often blamed for diseases, but most of the time the culprits were said to be other species-- resentment towards foxes or warhogs or whatever was a great way to vent frustration in an already speciest climate. For example, The Black Plague was considered to be the fault of rodents; in fact, we now know that the Plague came from Elephindia, when a disease (which, though deadly to smaller mammals, was only strong enough to cause the sniffles and a rash in elephants) began infecting all species and made it's way to Fangland along the Silk Road trade route. Though the Plague killed a 1/3rd of the medium-sized population of Fangland, the persecution of rodents is estimated to have been even greater (ironically enough, rodents are naturally immune to the disease-- which many considered proof that it was their fault).

Or that tree? No, we’ll boil the leaves, and you drink the water! No, that killed them… how about the bark? What if we stuck the bark up their nose? No, wait! What if we ground it up and they ate it? That kind of made them feel better… let’s try boiling it!

Eureka! They feel better! Obviously it's because the tree has spirits in the bark that can only be woken up by boiling it, so if you drink water the bark is boiled in, you’ll be imbued with the power of the spirits! But not the leaves-- those are fox leaves and therefor filthy.

That sort of history of experimentation can lead scientists to question why local folk medicines are said to work-- say, questioning whether there is some chemical compound in the tree bark is released by boiling it that helps fight illnesses! Or deadly poisons-- the history of medicine and warfare is disturbingly related.

Remmy VIII's beloved wife Betty Seymour died because during her long childbirth the handmaidens were unexperienced and even with clean paws managed to bring infection to her vagina. Most historians believe that an old peasant midwife could have done it better and spared her death.

One of the funny solutions to plagues was also shooting from catapults and later cannons to scare away the plague.

Edward II was the first king of Fangland to abdicate. He was homosexual and a bad ruler at that. His ambitious wife Isabella (the first She-Wolf queen) could not stomach being third wheel in marriage after her husband found a lover, nor that he was an incopetent ruler. So she with her personal army, and her own lover, invaded Fangland. People welcomed her as savior and gave Edward up. He was to be imprisoned but after his loyalists tried to free him, she decided to have him murdered, rumors say she had a red hot poker shoved up his ass.

Just got a brand new laptop, which is infinitely better than the $150 tablet I've been using for the last year or so.

The wolf is a minor character. He's only ever been in lewds (and hidden in a random image).

Clancy does have his reasons and they explain his behavior, but they sure as hell don't excuse it.

He isn't in the story proper yet though, and I feel like his history will end up being the most 'glossed over'. Probably mostly cover it in side stories if at all. On the plus side it's easier to talk about his past as a result.

Exactly this; some fics act like being extremely sexually active while they are teens should be normal for rabbits. What was the attitude before birth control? Before any sort of drugs which would, of course, circle back to the whole "rabbits are such horny fuckers they need meds"; how did they function before the modern era?

Everything just seems to point to them being an extremely monogamous race out of sheer necessity, with literally the only reasoning anyone has for polygamy, their sex drives compared to other mammals, would be curbed by evolution since they aren't hunted by predators anymore.
