Did you do a "plot pieces" (Forgot the name for it) map of your fic? By that I mean the whole process of going "big events" of the fic and slowly building them up and connecting them?

Comic and others had a name for it but I can't remember it now. When I have the same block of keeping up something I do it, so I'm mostly just making sure everything is working while slowly building up the fic. Writing, like any other activity, is slow to start, but the more words you write in succession, the faster and better they get. It's like a runner's high, only the product is a state that completely drowns you in the work to such an extent that you forget that you had breaks planned. You will be slamming away at the keyboard in one moment, and looking up at the clock to realize it's been three hours the next. It's a matter of willpower, but only in so far as putting the boat out to sea, as it were. After all the riggings are set and the sails are out, it's the wind that carries you.

And when he explained to Nick that whenever she would be sleeping, she would actively cry out and constantly tell Nick that she was sorry, like she was stuck in a teirrble self-harming nightmare, REALLY stuck with me. It wasn't ever said again nor talked about, but that paints one hell of a sad picture, when you think about it.
