I guess Nick/Gaara comparison works, though I still feel that, for all intents and purposes, Nick and Kurama the Nine-Tails are essentially the same character (except, you know, Nick didn't want to murder everything.) Kurama only turned evil after it and the other tailed-beasts were hunted down and treated like monsters and tools. It then became the "personification of hatred", being the monster fox all of humanity thought it was, until Naruto came along, treated it with "kindness" and the fox decided to throw its lot in with him (still a little jarring of how fast that transformation happened).

Dunno, he was saying "Don't worry my next comic will be even shorter!" after people were saying they didn't like the Family Ties comic and was cutting international version of the comic after people corrected some typos of his comic and claimed he'd continue but without the same motivation or interest in the work, before just going back on it after people kissed him enough for it. I just assume he's volatile enough for anything.

Currently I'm reading/drawing from "Fun with a Pencil" by Loomis, but I also ordered a bunch of books like "Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist" by Rogers Peck, which is quite interesting to say the least. The human body is a beauty in all it's complexity.
Bridgman's figure reference book "Drawing from Life" and "Perspective Made Easy" by Norling, one of the best books on learning perspective.
I also got "The Natural Way to Draw" by Nicolaides, but I read somewhere that one shouldn't read/practice from it until one has a good grasp on human structure, because his teachings heavily favor messy lines over clear and defined lines, which in turn could enforce a bad habit.

But books are more or less trivial, practice is the real key to success and I'm doing that every day by now.

these websites offers a good introduction into the subject, but if you want something more in-depth check out "How to Render" by Scott Robertson (one of the best). James Gurney (creator of Dinotopia) also has some good books on painting and colors.
However I haven't checked either out yet, so I don't know of how much use their work would be to you. Robertson is often recommended though.

Shading isn't everything however, as the picture attached explains very well.
Line weight is what gives your linework that certain oomph. Rose for example uses line weight really well, giving her art work that characteristic look.

Read throughs, blind reads, and chipping away at the audio book for WriteAnon-- audio book recording takes a lot of time, so its a bit slow going. There's also been a lot of time spent on Writer's Workshop. Couch Surfin' ZooSA is also going on with FoxyProf.

I still need to write the history of Zootopian medicine, write up my "How to give feedback and critique", and find a composer so that I can finally finish my Noir TT project.

I have fewer audio books recorded than blind reads, but I love doing them!

I do have trouble recording them: it takes me a million takes to get a line sounding right and natural and in character, and even if i get it right I can't seem to stop my voice from snapping or clicking! And then there are background noises-- I had to redo a huge chunk of a chapter because it picked up my roommate's bible study two rooms over, and passing planes, babies crying, motorcycles revving and ambulances can interrupt at a moment's notice!

Then there's the audio editing, which I will admit I am completely unaware of how to do correctly. I'm sure I could make everything sound better, but I don't know how.

But its the best feeling in the world to finally export it and throw it up on SoundCloud!
