I do understand that the author did need to work a little more on the original ending, but you also need to know that the author didn't want to initially have a WildeHopps ending to begin with.

It was only after a shit ton of comments that wanted a happy ending did they make a WildeHopps ending, and they didn't spend a lot of time making it, since they didn't really know where to go with it.

To be fair, most comments were about how shitty all characters behaved to each other. Judy married a buck she didn't love because her and Nick's relationship is a taboo, so she caved in to social pressure and broke his heart. She then married this guy she didn't love and had kits with him. Her husband cheated on her because, according to him, she's a workaholic and didn't pay enough attention to him, which is a horrible bullshit excuse and blameshifting. Judy then goes to Nick, pretty much uses him and not only leaves him again, but leaves with a false promise to maybe someday come back to him again, and he knows that's absolute bullshit and won't happen, which breaks his heart again. Judy comes back to her husband, who proceeds to guilt trip her into staying with him, using their children as an argument.

It's a complete shitshow from every angle.

I do remember another fic where it was Judy's fault instead; she gave into social pressure from all her friends and family, which she says she had never cared about before, and married a buck she didn't love. She had kids with him, but then went to Nick saying she still needed him. They then proceed to have an affair for a few years until Nick, sick of being the second man, told Judy to make up her mind and divorce the buck.

That to, honestly the first chapter was the best. It was before everything really came into play and it was all unknown.

But ya Judy was fucking awful and that buck was a monster.

Also Judy wasn't the one to give up first, it was Nick. Judy was constantly fighting to keep themselves together. But when Nick stopped to look and see EVERYTHING despised them. (Work refused to give them an big cases because of their romance, society treated them as a fucking pariah, family stopped talking to her.) She was fine with it as long as he was with her, but when he gave up, she also gave up and let everything fall apart.

It was only later when Nick was ready to fight for them that Judy was the one to give up.

Honestly I wanted an extra ending that didn't end in WildeHopps. Like ;years later Judy finally realizes this isn't worth it, her Kids are old enough to know whats going on and can handle not having both parents .She divorces that buck, and goes to Nick, prepared to tell him that she wants to be with him. But Nick had moved on he used that "promise" and that recording to give him strength and move on, he finally found a wonderful woman that loves him. And he is not going to dump her after everything.

And Judy needs to move on herself, since she can't back down from her own mistakes. Or something.

Really I wouldn't mind this as much as i do. (In terms of constantly eye-rolling at everything that is happening) if he wasn't treating this as some kind of grand work that hasn't been done before.

At first I thought it was going to be something serious and not really Zootopia (we're having hybrids and 9 months pregnancy right off the bat), trying to be a preachy comic.

Then the last page shown it was Violet Diaries and whatever 999 other "Judy and Nick have a miracle hybrid" fics, and this page is just throwing other cliche in. Honest to God I prefer this, I really dislike preachy comics (Honestly I'm still worried about that, though).

That said you should really realize the author is really overdramatic, I remember he got mad over the cuck Stu comic claiming "Don't worry! The next comic will be even shorter!".
