In regards to lewd, for myself I draw them with the corresponding animal breast placement and anatomy. For the thread and in general it's more acceptable to make the breasts flat or at least a A/B with human nipples, I think canonically that's also the case? For me, it really depends. Sometimes a "busty" animal can look fine if done right. Generally I prefer small/no breasts with a bit of fluff in place, but i am not that picky unless the chest is ridiculously big.

Well, when I'm sketching something out I like to use a mechanical pencil cause there's almost always a sharp point, but inventively the fur often seems to blend together (which I don't always find to be a bad thing). I also use a 8b and 4h pencil to achieve a full contrast of light and dark, which seems to help

A mix of both, really. Having a fine point is really important if you want to do detailed fur, so I recommend keeping your pencil well sharpened. Some people like to blend (with a finger/blending stump) their graphite drawings, but since I've started drawing animals I like to keep them as clean as possible to mimic the detail of fur. I'm afraid I can't offer much more advice than that and practicing, of course
