I still think that, narratively, Mae should hang out with both. Ignoring one of them entirely doesn't seem like something she would do.

It sucks missing Bea's first hang-out, since the mall is cute, but I think the story works well if you do Gregg's first hang-out and then do the rest with Bea. At the end of Gregg's first hang-out, Mae learns he is moving away. It really bothers her, as you can see in her dialogue. Doing it this way, it's sort of like Mae reconnects with Bea because she's about to lose Gregg, but Gregg also doesn't feel left-out since you did hang with him at least once.
