>Octavia is sick and tired of Vinyl Scratch blaring her electronic music throughout their home, disturbing the cello mare's practice sessions and relaxation times. No matter how much she stresses Vinyl to turn down her speakers or play the music through her headset the DJ pony never seems to listen (no wonder). With her patience finally challenged she convinces Twilight Sparkle to modify some DJ equipment to replicate Vinyl's, intending to swap them to teach her housemate a lesson.

>On the night of the concert Octavia switches Vinyl's real DJ equipment with the sabotaged one. During the concert the songs builds with layers and layers of beats and melodies until the bass kicks into the phenomenal drop. At this point a weird aura emits from the audience speakers and Vinyl's foldbacks, floating towards the main attraction herself. The aura is quite odd; it's static-looking, the same kind of pattern you would see in sound waves on a recording. By the time she notices this the aura enters Vinyl's body, somehow inflating the pony with sound.

>Getting too big for her decks Vinyl tries to make a run for it but trips over her own legs, her body so big it alters her centre of gravity. She falls into the crowd whom, thinking this is all a part of her show, start tossing her around like she is a ball, all the while the magic sound waves are continuing to blow up her body. Eventually Vinyl gets too big for the crowd to hold up and too big for them to make space, squishing them up against each other and Vinyl. This causes her concert to be cancelled.

I personally like situations where characters undergo inflation for the first time, liking it so much that they keep doing it in the future. How that relates to >>8830485 could be Octavia's plan backfiring. What should have a "Teaching someone a lesson" scenario turns into Vinyl taking this experience and weaving it into her concerts, for entertainment for her fans and for her own benefits too.

Thunderlane finally decides that Rainbow Dash's psychopathic rulership has gone on long enough. He switches the oxygen and spectra tubes heading to her office, and pulls the fire alarm. Sure enough, she starts filling up on the thick, syrupy liquid. In moments she has to sit on the floor, and moments more she's unable to remove the mask. Thunderlane decides to reduce the flow--now that she's unable to escape, he can draw out her comeuppance nice and long. Dash herself can't do much but struggle helplessly and hope whoever's doing this to her has mercy. With how Dash has run the Rainbow Factory, it's unlikely her unknown adversary does anymore.

Would Thunderlane want to gloat? Taunt her with escape just out of reach, mercy just a few tears of remorse away? Or would he rather keep her guessing until the very end?

And how would Thunderlane dispose of the tyrant? A hard kick to the terribly bloated and taut gut? A bit of shaking to excite her like a can of soda? Or just a pure and simple unending stream of spectra? Perhaps he'd stop the flow, come in, act merciful, and then finally destroy her--with the very last foal to get chopped up.

I think the issue is that what you posted was what the writer was going for, but the result they ended up with was a closed loop system where changelings can sustain themselves from other changelings. Something's wrong with a metabolic system that outputs as much energy as it consumes, even when you factor in magic. Clarification is absolutely needed, but we probably won't get any.

Changelings feed on love; they can't give what they don't have. Plus teaching a lesson about sharing to a race of eusocial hive insects (which are widely known for cooperation and altruism in the animal kingdom) is about as stupid as you can get.

The finale should have been about showing mercy and tolerance to the changelings, who then slowly learn how to get along with and integrate with the ponies. Then they gorge themselves into immobility on freely-given love and affection.

Well.

A fan pointed out to me that someone on DA plagiarized "Too Many Memories". Turned it into a Pokemon inflation story by swapping out some names and changing a few other words. It was a pretty obvious search-and-swap job, because a few pony-specific references still slipped through the cracks.

I talked to the Pokefan, told him that what he did isn't cool... and he actually listened. Dude told me he'd rewrite it from scratch, and took the plagiarized version down. I'm very pleasantly surprised.
