Hi, /ztg/! Falke here with the second half of sci-fi TT space cops AU thing.

I very much appreciate how stupid tumblr is for formatting and readability, and I do intend to park this whole thing on AO3 when I'm comfortable with it.

To recap, this is chapter one of a sci-fi story that I'm going to finish when I have the time. Some stuff is subject to change and revision between now and then.

It really is, even in the alternate scenario Kulkum wrote where it was Nick who got hit instead of Judy.

I am more surprised that the comic is going in the same format/chapters as the fanfiction. The third chapter has the forest scene from Judy's point of view, her running from Nick until she instinctively recognizes him and then basically humping him until he gives in. It might have been smoother just to go through the events in chronological order, or something like that. That is if they even do the Judy POV, which might be awkward to put into comic format since a lot of it is her thinking in terms of "her fox" and such.

It is the main gripe with Kulkum's writing; the sexual tension has no buildup, while Nick and Judy are out of character most of the time in his stories. There are times where one or two of his stories have some interesting premises, only to be thrown out the window for the sake of smut.

Not that anon, but the difference there is that is the theme of Savage and the Savage, it is meant to be nothing but mindless sex-drugging. Broken Mask/Savage Dark is a bit of mixed bag; Broken Mask was meant to be a solo piece but once it attempts to tell an actual story through its later chapters and Savage Dark, it gets muddled by the fact that the beginning is basically rape. Not to mention every two or three chapters of Savage Dark is smut.

Not actually what happened but okay. (I haven't gotten any sleep in a long time, so hopefully he can understand what I am trying to get across)

Judy is feeling the symptoms of "heat" (Yes, I know) normally, without the drug. But in this world, rabbit's only feel it ONCE they finally found another mammal that they fancy.

And in this case Nick's finds out just before they find the drug dealer that got her infected with that drug, (Which is a derivative of Night Howler, that is super dangerous in that it's new and untested.)

But the way that it came across was that Nick thought she didn't want to feel that attraction towards him and it was just because he was the male always around her, thus he dropped it. But Judy's standoffish nature was that she thought he would be downright disgusted by her.

They then find the drug dealer and she runs after him, while he takes the buyer that was there purchasing it. That is when he KO's the buyer and then runs after Judy.
During that Judy is affected with the drug and turns "savage" and runs away into the forest once Nick finds her.
(Since Pred's want to kill and harm. Prey want to run away and hide.)

He finally chases her down and after being hurt by her, the case ends. And that is when a part of her knows that it's "Her Fox"
Which leads to cuddling and trying to calm her down, but since she is still feeling that attraction towards him and coupled with the drug makes it doubly worse. To the point that she was physically harming herself (trying to get out of her pants without moving the belt, and working herself into a frenzy having clothes on.)

He has no idea if she can calm down in time or not, which then leads to fingering her (to calm down the need) and stopping himself from going any further. even when she wanted it more.

During that entire time her mind WAS there but clouded, all her mind and body was thinking of is "Her Fox is RIGHT there and she wants him"

I think it has to be done near-flawlessly to work, and that's usually more than one can expect from fanfiction. In Kulkum's case in this comic, the characters are being forced into it, sort of. I thought about why it bothers me.

Judy has been chemically deprived of her agency. Okay. So the decisions and the understanding of the situation are on Nick.

He could make the conscious choice to assault or rape someone who is under duress. That's an acceptable narrative direction, regardless of how you feel about assault or rape. Tough to write, though.

Instead of that, we get this:

"He was obviously as insane as she was, something that he continually tried to convince himself of when his fingers wedged and squirmed their way into her briefs. He almost managed to stop himself, almost managed to think for a moment before the adorable bunny chirred her approval and arched her hips and completed the motion for him."

Nick... doesn't really have any agency either. He's going along with things because, by Kulkum's own explanation, he doesn't have the willpower to stop himself.

You get narrative backflips to justify smut, and it renders Nick pretty far out of character to boot. He may as well be drugged, too.

I was going to give it the excuse that rape is the point of the fic, it is about Jack getting fucked while being drugged, but I completely forgot about the later chapters with Nick and how he is cheating on Judy with Jack (god, that sounds fucking weird). I have to admit that you took me for a loop with that comic. Good build-up and narrative swings in emotion with a pretty sweet ending. Also, great work in using light and shadow to create tension.

Though I do have some issues with the lighting. It seem that there is too much "glow" on some of the light sources. Usually when a flashlight is placed against a dark backdrop, it's just a straight cone of light with little to no glow effects. Either tone down the glow or make the cone of light more obvious.

So Guardian Blue, season 1 is done, and damn was it a good story. Genuinely funny, Nick and Judy on point in character, nice non-cuck use of Jack Savage and Skye, slow burn as hell, and some emotional parts.

Jacob looks fine but if you want to add more emphasis on his butt, try adding a curve near the base of his tail

Lower part of Freddy's butt/hips could use less "bump" since it's not viewed directly from behind, therefore it shouldn't be as pronounced as the top one.

And if you want, you can add a line to represent a little dip on the the otter's backs. Similar to what we human have when we arch our backs.
