I have been thinking about something Peridot said about there being hundreds of Pearls on Homeworld. Hundreds of pearls seems like a small number if you consider that there could be tens of millions of different gems walking around.
So I think that having a pearl, if there are really only hundreds of them, is one hell of a prize. Something only elite gems could have or even gems that have achieved something remarkable in war (like Eyeball implied).
And this also could mean that Pearls are made and are immediately given to an assigned master. And that is why Yellow Pearl and Blue Pearl share some characteristics with their respective Diamonds, the Diamonds must have wired their pearls to have that appearance.
And so does even our Pearl, her master must have wanted her to resemble her in some way and that is the reason why I still doubt Pearl could have belonged to Rose, White or Pink Diamond.
I think Pearl's story would be so much more interesting if she belonged to some still unknown gem that treated her like garbage and it was her choice to follow Rose, and not something she did out of an ingrained form of loyalty for Rose.

Based on this we can assume that Pearl belonged to a pink diamond gem. Considering Pink diamond only ruled over Earth we can also assume Pink diamond wasn't as old as her sister diamonds. The war started 6000 years ago, and in The Answer, Garnet calls the Earth a new colony.
So if we put all of this together, then Pink Diamond is probably not a lot older than 6000-8000 years old, and so are Pearl and Rose.

Every gem belongs to a certain Diamond in the sense that they fall under them in the hierarchy, but that doesn't mean she was made for that Diamond. They just put whatever Diamond they're under on their outfit. I feel like tying Peri's arc to a bunch of very plot important events has led to everyone wanting every Peri appearance to be a lore bomb, despite her not having anything to deal with right now. Which in turn leads them to be disappointed that she gets used as a comic relief character. Not that she hasn't given small lore bombs even post-arc, like stuff about how HW ships work in "Adventures in Light Distortion", the history of the Beta Kindergarten in "Beta", Homeworld's resource shortage in "Too Short to Ride", etc.

To be fair, the gems don't really have much reason to independently seek each other out.

The only interactions she's had with Peridot and Lapis post-barn arc both seem to have been done on a whim (Peri just happening to be there when her and Steven were going to Funland, and Steven dragging her along to the barn so she could get her mind off Jasper).

Maybe not a Lapisfag but you are willing to look past Lapis's actions while Pearl, who committed more or less the same "crimes" as her, doesn't get a pass. When they both pretty much have moved past it and are settling down in a new sort of enviornment, For Lapis that being the Earth, and for Pearl that being getting along with humans, and with Greg specially.

The reason behind a murder can be understandable. The act in itself never is, but the motivation behind it, can be understandable. Take someone who would kill someone that abuses them, it's murder, but they committed the murder for a reason. Pearl let Steven fall to his death, it's shitty, but she wasn't thinking straight and after that she felt guilty about her actions.

Greg didn't murder Rose, I said he was responsible for her death, whether he was aware of it or not doesn't matter. In the gem's eyes, and especially in Pearl's eyes, Greg's existence is why Rose ceased to exist.

I've posted this episode concept before, but:

It would begin from a previous episode, one where Peridot gets poofed and reforms with a Crystal Gem outfit. It starts in the temple, with the gems and Lapis congratulating her as she and Steven tell the story of what happened. Garnet interrupts to inform the group that they must go on a mission. After Steven convinces Lapis to go, Lapis makes a backhanded comment about Peri's outfit change ("Wooow, it's like you're a real Crystal Gem."), to which Pearl is visibly annoyed. Mid-warp, Lapis and Pearl have a short spat about the values of the Crystal Gems. They arrive at their destination, a large mountainous area surrounded by hot springs. The group splits into 2 (Garnet, Amethyst, and Peri/Steven, Pearl, and Lapis). While exploring the area, Lapis asks what the mission is for, and finds out about corrupted gems. When she's informed that the standard procedure for corrupted gems is to poof and bubble them, she makes another backhanded comment about how keeping gems prisoners seems to be the Crystal Gem's expertise. This starts a full on argument between Lapis and Pearl, with Pearl stating that her and the gems never removed her from the mirror due to concerns that Lapis was either broken or corrupted, which Lapis dismisses. Mid-argument, the corrupted gem shows up, and Pearl and Steven try to corner it. While this happens, Lapis and Pearl's argument is still going on, and Pearl herself gets cornered by the monster. Just before the monster is able to crush Pearl, Lapis uses her powers to grab it and hold it above a geyser. The geyser erupts, poofing the monster, and Steven bubbles it. When he comes to see if Pearl is okay, they find Lapis has disappeared, and after not finding her, chalk it up to her flying away. We come back to the Temple, with Steven and the gems warping back. Steven goes outside on the patio to relax, when he notices Lapis sitting on the beach. He calls to Pearl, and they confront her. 1/2

Rose and Greg loved each other, she chose Greg over Rose and yet they still coudltn except it. Pearl lost and started to antagonize Greg for years because of it. Rose chose to go get the the gems and Pearl in perticular couldn't understand it.

Pearl has been a detriment to Steven's development, she tried to stop him form existing, tried to kill him and has been nothing but hurtful to his dad.

If she could get away with it, she would kill both of them in an instant. She is unforgivable and you are detached.

She reluctantly accepted Rose and greg's relationship. Otherwise she would have tried getting rid of Greg long before Rose even got pregnant. Even in "we need to talk" you see that she reluctantly accepts that Greg is her favorite human and is serious about him. After that we didn't see any more moments between Pearl and Greg. In Three gems and a baby you can tell she at least tolerates being around him, she doesn't antagonize him during any of the instances she's in his house.

If Pearl really tried to stop Steven from existing she wouldn't have even let the pregnancy happen by getting rid of Greg. If she really wante to stop Steven from existing, she would have pulled out the gem without a moment's hesitation.

Now you're just making assumptions that the only reason Pearl hasn't killed them both is because of the consequences it would have. If that was a reason she would have done it sneakily long ago, or during those nights where she watches Steven sleep. You're just trying to look for reasons to label Pearl as a cunt and nothing else when the whole point of her character ar is that she moves past being a cunt and lets loose.

I'm a law student so I should know way more about the act of murder. Murder is always punishable because it never has an excuse to take a human's life, but the sentence can be reduced based on the circumstances about the murder and one of those circumstances being the mental state of the murderer. The world isn't just black and white, you know.
