the other day when I helped an anon with that advice a new person showed up in the discord shortly afterwards, so it's not an issue of the link. for some unknown reason (even the admin has no clue what's going on, I've talked to him about it) it treats a fuckton of random IPs as if they're banned. when you're banned from a server on discord it bans both the account and IP and it shows the link as 'expired' despite working just fine.
from what I understand the ban list of the server is fairly short, so the issue is definitely discord itself fucking up somehow rather than an issue with the server. in short, it's unfixable other than just telling people to 'ban evade.'
