It seems to be one of the threads favorite subjects for the past couple weeks, despite the comic being dead for months now.

As far as I can tell, its just low hanging fruit that people can get high and mighty over, and Its getting pretty old.

Even before the comic went into hiatus after hiatus and it's quality nosedived, this was the biggest fundamental problem that Zistopia had.

There was no fucking structure.

When it first started, we knew several of the big details of Protopia, then NW started it with "haha here's some sketches of the original script. And I really like the 70's so...", then when it got popular, it started into it's updates.

But it didn't have a fucking beginning, it was in media res. Which, you know, if fine some times, but there's a reason why even the old script had babby Nick and them learning about Zootopia in the museum at the beginning.

And NW only had ideas as just that: ideas for setpieces for this comic to start. Manchas, Honey's bunker, Bunnyburrow, and Wild Times.

That was it, there was no planning for the overall plot. No thought put into who the bad guy was. You could assume it was Swinton, or Honey, or even Bellwether, but the Cud Club was so obviously half thought out it was obvious.

And because there was no connective tissue to the big plot points, the story meandered until NW got writer's block for the last time.

I can guarantee you that when Nick & Judy fought Manchas, the MKUltra zombies weren't even a glimmer in NW's mind, and neither was the villain.

I had a dream of Sword Art Online + Zootopia, I know >SAO >watching shitass online kusonime etc, and was thinking of doing it something with vreality and how it would affect Zootopia.

When people do VR stuff, they try to bring perspectives like invalid/disabled people being able to do stuff, someone being able to be someone else or being able to experience something that they would never be able in real life. The only ideas who popped in my head was future!Remmy and future!Pack playing something while he pretended to be a Wolf or some predator. Or future!Judy meeting up future!Nick, Judy playing as a species normally seen as stoic and heroic and Nick playing a species that is normally seen as trustworthy and reliable. In both ideas I wanted to bring them meeting by accident in real life.

This is a very interesting concept. Preds living as preys and viceversa, understanding the other through virtual reality, the concept of who we are regardless of the exterior aspect... there is a lot you can do with this, anon. I'll wait eagerly.

Not exactly the same but I remember there was a fanfiction where Nick and Judy didn't meet each other, and each joined a dating website. They were paired up and talked, getting more and more attracted to each other without knowing each other's species. At some point Judy said something that revealed a bit of her prejudice against foxes, which broke Nick's heart. Nick was going to break it off with her when but the day he was Judy was having a shit day, they found out each other's species, and decided to meet in person and give it a try. Sadly it never updated to that part but it was a neat concept.
