I'm shilling this with your own words:
AU where Judy is older than Nick
She never leaves Bunnyburrow for Zootopia, so she joins the Sheriff's Department instead as a deputy. She's settled in this regard so she doesn't want to in any other arena.
Nick is a young man, out of high school, getting started in full-time hustling, he's in Bunnyburrow for one reason or another when this persistent bunny cop comes and starts harassing him.
This is just a draft and I'll repost and all that when I feel ready for it. This is open for comment and revisions. Not sure if I want this to be romantic or not.

Oh my goodness, I only recently watched it with my little brother (like two weeks ago) and I totally feel in love with it! It's so dagone funny. So I go to Fanfiction.net and look up Zootopia and guess what?
People are sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sicksicck sick sick sick sick icky sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sickicky sick sick and guess what? SICK >.<
For pete's sake, it's a Children's movie! Not only slash pollutes this fandom, but other horrid things like Bloody Gore and Horror and extreme character death and really bad cussing!
I just don't get it...
And what if my little borter wanted to read fanfiction, and one day when my parents weren't home he ran into a T rated thing that should be M, and doean;t know what a Yaoi or Yuri or slash is??? Things like that should be in M or have abetter warning for kids ( and I know their are children on there) so that they don't get scared for life!
I never flamed those people who write that stuff if I don't like it I don;t read it, but people really need to think about what they are they are writing fanfiction for. Slah is sort of expected for things like NAruto, but come on! Not my favorite cartoons! (they also do this to Buzz lightyear of Star command.
Well, that's my daily rant.

So, I want to know. What is everyone's honest thoughts on the "Bunnies practice polygamy" trope and all the other tropes tied to it? Do you think it could even be used tastefully or should it just not be used at all?

>>8674266
That's what I'm saying, stop posting lewd VRbits. Its a disgrace and the VRbit is not for lewding.
>>8674252

>>8674350
Its actually four strings and a badger.
I just inked the strings crappily.
>>8674350
That's a badger
>>8674252
I fucking hate it. But then again people keep forcing all kinds of 'new wave' relationship and fetish/kinks/whatever you call it to have 5 randoms and your partner secondary spouse fucking them, it's pretty much the same thing so I may have gotten burnt out of all that.
The fact it is commonly used as some drama for Judy and Nick relationship also made it even less attractive for me, it is such a weak issue when Judy literally WHOLE plot is about her not following bunny tradition. If you want to write Judy being a cheat then write her being a cheat, stop trying to make her cheat because of tradition/drinking/drugged by sister.
>>8674252
I'm sure it could be used tastefully but at this point I have read so many its just a giant red flag that screams, stop reading and think of badgers instead.
>>8674383
Not the same badger though.
>>8674252
fuck off with this shit
>>8674397
Oh, I know.
I just used Honey for comparison.
>>8674252
It's fucking trash. It's never used in an interesting way, it's not biologically accurate, it's always just used for a bloo bloo or whatever, and 90% of the time it's paired with "foxes mate for life" which is even worse.
>>8674252
I only like it when its not used for drama.
Otterly's story is the best example of this.
>>8672056
Adding to the surprisingly large number of horse gun jokes.
How do people react to polygamy stories that aren't centered around drama due to jealously and betrayal?
>>8674456
I don't think those exist.
>>8674456
Show me one and I'll tell you.
>>8674456
That's Otterly's story.
>>8674417
Isn't that the same for any other animal behavior headcanon anyone comes up with?
>>8674456
I don't read those since 90% of the time is just smut.
>>8674252
Almost every single thing relating to wild animal behavior is fucking shit, but this is a step above since it's purely a disgusting kink that degenerates try to push as the new normal
>>8674278
This goat looks so satisfied with its product.
>>8674456
>I'm going to rephrase my questions about polyshit until I get encouragement

>>8674482

OTHER than 'foxes mate for life'?
>>8673247

>>8674497

>>8674247

>>8674521
So the animal headcanons that aren't used for drama get a free pass of "they act like this in the wild"?
Also bunny kit culling is the only other one I can think of in the drama department. Maybe canine pack hierarchy to a certain point as well.

>>8674587

>>8674596
No.
>>8674627
Not the other guy but Skunk spraying is used with Hugh.
Rosie is 13, right?
>>8674742
I keep forgetting that, and I feel like a dip when I request lewds of her
>>8674317
You've missed plenty art, pal.
>>8674627
The thing is that rabbits are actually pretty fucking monogamous, so "bunnies are all cock-hungry whores" is literally just degenerates trying to push a meme that isn't even accurate so they can make Nick sad. It's a cheap, boring way to spark drama because they're not good enough to cause conflict inside the relationship, they have to use an external factor.
>>8674482
It kind of is; we do see some traits that are left over from their more feral days (running on all fours, wolves howling, certain animal noises) but all those traits seem to be instinctual, physical reactions rather than anything cultural wise. Hell, we see Judy (and Nick in the comics) laying in bed like humans rather than curled up as their ancestors would. Not all their ancient behaviors made the transition.
The idea that any polygamous behavior that animals had when they were wild would carry over is almost ridiculous.
>>8674497
Not either of the anons, but I have the feeling the question was made in response to a fanfic posted on AO3 a while ago; the author had bunnies being polygamous, though Judy is loyal to Nick, and they were having an argument with some commenters, trying to justify the whole polygamy trope. Not saying the anon was perhaps that author, but maybe they wanted to know the honest thoughts of everyone.
Anyone else HATE polygamy?

It's in my top 3 worst kinks, next to scat and incest

7: While expanding on the Zootopia lore, we are treated to a mix of stories that make us laugh and play with our emotions. It's best when it's slice of life and worse when it's drama. Interesting story and characters, but it needs a good editor urgently, and the sentence structure and diction leaves a little to be desired.

Whatever the enjoyment rating, it's 11/10 when it comes to popularity.
It's the only fanfic which is so widely talked about, one of the very few which attracted attention of so many artists and writers and pretty much unique instance of something making this place a little more popular.
I think we can all agree who wrote it matters little - certainly, weavs popularity helped, but this alone would do shit all for gaining as much popularity as it had. It's just good.
Perhaps other writers would want to analyze and deconstruct to see what exactly had made it so successful.

>The shivering kit, with fur so disheveled she couldn't even tell what species of cat he was, clinging to his ratty yellow blanket for dear life, staring up at the adults around him with wide, wide eyes.
>Fangmire, above him, in urgent conversation with the okapi social worker, with the thick case file and the belt that was missing a set of cuffs.
>She had to stop and turn. Nick, behind her in the office, came up short.
>"I need some air," she said, and fought the sadness when he drew even with her and she saw the slow understanding on his face. "I'm sorry."

I'd say a lot of it is because the characters are designed and written specifically to foster discussion and debate. That is, as far as I can remember, Weaver's stated goal with the story. It brings in eyeballs and the opinions attached to them, and that's fine.
I never could get into it - I prefer to write and read things with a tighter narrative.

>And Judy looked like she was about to douse herself with the canteen anyway, just to go after this perp. He had to take her wrists and keep her there, in the shelter of their disabled cruiser.
>"We know where he is," Nick said. "All the way down to the lock number. He goes in there and we'll just seal him in."
>Judy fought it. And Nick felt it, too. A month of chasing this guy, through three biomes and the trail of destruction and injuries he'd left in his wake. It was hard to just let it end like this, with an anonymous arrest on the other side that they wouldn't even see.
>"Call it in," he said, and squeezed her tense shoulders. "Tell them you found him. Tell them it's over."
>>8677267

Hey guys writeyote here! Well I'm on a sonnet kick for whatever reason. I just wrote another, this time it's the scene where Judy starts a race war from Nick's pov. Should I make more of these dumb things? If so any requests?
Predators going savage she did say
It would be redundant to speak of trust
For all his dedication he did pay
Becuase of this one rabbit’s wonderlust
Foolish and naive after all this time
Just another fox he seemed to be seen
To this bunny who accused him of crime
All by some hypothetical new gene
Betrayed, not enough to describe his hate
He knew he could do nothing in the end
As a simple fox, he was trapped by fate
After a rabbit’s life he did defend
He should have known this cop who was prey
She didn’t even stop wearing fox spray

These questions suck because all it does is spark personal arguments.
"The think you like is an 8? No, its a 4! This fic does it better, its a 9.84925 by my scale!"
Why not just ask for fics people enjoy rather than having to give numerical qualifiers to them, or compare them to each other like its some competition?
Pack Street is actually a protracted fast food advertisement, in the climax of the story an angry mob descends on Remmy but then he offers them a Bug Burga™ Grasshopper Whammy Burga™ and they realize they are all the same and hug and dance in the streets
brought to you by Bug Burga™

Question: Do you think it'd work if I posted a greentext story onto Ao3?
It'd be too long to share with the thread, I think. But I think people on Ao3 would appreciate it.
>>8678473
No. Expand it out to proper prose. Greentext should only be 1 or two posts long.
>>8678473
Why not both? Or do it on Ao3, that way it will be saved.
>>8678439
Yes, and then someone else or the same person posted another retarded question.
I sure am glad I know that some random poster considers Pack Street a 67/104, whereas a different random poster gives it three thumbs up, two wavey hands and an approving nod before glancing away.
>>8678473
I mean, I'd turn it into prose, and not actually have the brackets in it.
>>8678473
If it's formatted correctly, sure.
The problem with greentexts is that there is usually no polish and structure is all over the place. But if your green circumvents both of those issues, I see no reason why you shouldn't post on AO3
>>8678506
I think you have a point.
>>8678513
I'm intending for this to be a decently long fic. I've got a lot of it written out already in "greentext" format. I don't want /ztg/ to slough through chunks of greentext they'll never read

>The problem with greentexts is that there is usually no polish and structure is all over the place.
Tbh that's the best part of it all. I love the variation and the creativity you get to employ when greentexting
>>8678538
That's kinda the point of greentexts, to be fair. If I posted greentext stories I'd take the brackets out, make it as prose-y as possible, and put in a note explicitly stating that they're lightning stories, stream of consciousness writing with little to no editing.

>>8678293
>>8678337
Agreed. The original question of "rate Pack Street on a 1-10 scale" is inherently flawed (and I suspect it was posed in such a manner as to deliberately spark a shitstorm for lulz). It stands to reason that the subsequent replies are ALSO going to be inherently flawed because everyone's standards are going to be different. Your "7" might be my "3". No other fics being provided as benchmarks ends up muddying the waters further.
And on a completely separate note, vague and useless commentary like this moron provided >>8676663 doesn't matter for sweet Fanny Adams when his critique literally boils down to "interesting story, but it needs someone else working on it too, and I don't like some of the word choice, and this fanwork doesn't feel like the Disney movie". It's not. Not even remotely. Just because it's wordier or even sounds good doesn't mean it's in any way helpful. It's "you need better words" and "some of the sentences are bad" but it doesn't say anything about how or why.

If someone told me I need to work on my line art, I'd be able to take that advice, even if the critic didn't quite understand how I needed to go. I'd be more mindful of that part of the drawing, maybe brush up on the fundamentals.
Vague criticism is still useful, even if the critic doesn't have the tools to articulate the exact problem.
>>8678786
Besides, if weaver is interested, he could always ask the guy to elaborate. This isn't something to be so upset about.
