Depends. Writing a character that people LIKE and want to draw and talk about is fucking hard. Writing characters to accomplish plot in your story is easy. Subtlety is key when writing a character

I've never read Pack Street but even I have a good idea of the characters.

Weaver has a main story for Pack Street about Remmy moving there, getting to know all of his roommates and trying to get along with them.
Remmy also has a story about why he moved to Pack Street in the first place.
All of the characters have stories of their own about their past.
All of the characters have stories with each other, too. These stories can be influenced by the stories that other characters have with other characters.
The characters change along with the interactions they all have. Certain changes in some characters can change other characters.
And its all happening on a timeline which means most if not all of it was planned by Weaver.
And it follows the events of the movie.
The story is very, very difficult to write because of how many moving elements you have bumping into each other, yet its all delivered in an entertaining way that anyone can enjoy. Its very difficult to write that way.

The character was an Adonis with a well paying job and decent schooling and no trouble getting laid. The first story was about him getting into a threesome after pulling an Arnold Schwarzenegger from Predator at a fake hunting club and the women just happened to instantly get wet panties for him after he caught one and beat down the other.

oh, by the way, this brings me back to one of the comments in the previous thread about introducing drama - I don't think it's really necessary. As in, Desmond and Molly are great as they are for casual comf and short funny stories.

As for the fake hunting club, it was a fun read. I don't mind reading about successful characters and all in all I think he managed to pull it off, so calling it self-wank is a little bit too much in my opinion.

Besides, you forgot about the cyberpunk entry, which was a good, digestible zootopia thriller.

You don't necessarily need "drama" but you do need some level of "conflict"- that's how plots work.

That said, the scope of the conflict means a lot to the story. Big sweeping drama meshes poorly with what was once fluffy romance. On the same concept, a character constantly involved in action and danger might be less concerned with "do they don't they" romantic stuff.

Which is not to say the conflict being in stark contrast to the scope is a bad thing, it just needs to be executed well. Super-secret-agent Jack Savage being a hopeless romantic, and driving your plot forward on that conflict can be funny and endearing.

It's all about execution.

Oh man, this picture hit me hard. I don't know what happened to her, but she's looks so scared and helpless and lost.

Back when I was a teenager, my Dad and I were driving back from a bowling tournament along one of the long, unlit Sacramento back-country roads. All the sudden, this guy ran out in front of the truck. We were doing about 50 when we hit him. I watched him fly 20 feet through the air in the light of the headlights and then hit the ground. By the time we got to him, he was gurgling blood and his head was split open. He died less than a minute later.

I remember the sound of the truck's idling engine, and the guy's body lit by the truck headlights, and the feeling of being utterly disconnected from everything that made sense. It was like I had no attachment to the earth anymore. Everything was alien. I couldn't even form words because the concept of language simply wasn't there.

I realize now that I'd gone into shock, but my dad and the EMTs who eventually arrived were to busy with trying to revive a corpse to help me. When I look at that picture of Judy, I can feel that sensation again like it just happened. I'm glad Nick's there for her, because I know what it's like to endure that alone.

I've already mentioned my thoughts on this before; the beginning feels contrived and a bit weak, the ending is strong but disconnected from the parts before it, like there are whole chapters missing. As much as I normally dislike miscommunication and unnecessary drama, it would have been entertaining to see a more drawn out story of Jack playing secret matchmaker between these two idiots, for it to all come to a head with that final chapter where Nick loses it and Judy realizes she fucked up. Again.

I haven't seen it too much in Zootopia fandom, but I would like to see more deconstruction of how Nick feels about his old habits and his new respectable job as an officer.
