/scaly/ - Scaly General #209
Post lewd reptiles and discuss scaly stuff, male or female is fine. Dragons, wyverns, reptile folk, snakes, and sharks on top of other scaly things are welcome. Ferals, anthros, and human/scaly are allowed, but please, no monstergirls. As some may take a few creative liberties on their creations, do inquire if there's a particular edge case you're unsure about.
Please avoid reposting images from the past 2-3 or so threads, try to keep things fresh and post other content.
We don't have any other form of chat setup outside these threads and there are no plans for a Discord server, don't ask.

I love big egg laying hips, especially if it's to support a large tail, almost raptor-like in form is ideal. I really don't like it when scalie artists draw the tail protruding at what seems to be a 90 degree angle from the spine.
Bigger wing is also good to at least try to be semi-believable, but not as big of an issue.

Slightly mad because people are treating me like a lifeline for fucking everything at work even though I've only been there for two months and I don't know what the fuck people are talking about most of the time. Interview tomorrow so hopefully I can go to a different job that pays more and has some idea of what the fuck they're doing.

Bummed. My laptop can't run the game I wanted to play.
>>8600297
Tired, also worrying myself sick over a potential laptop purchase, if I really need it etc.
I already have a laptop but it needs a new battery and hard drive and is also on 8.1 so I kinda just want to abandon it for a cheap, portable 300 dollar thing for notes and schoolwork.
So guys I've finally given up on /k/ today. Gave up on /tg/ a while ago. This is my last bastion. Might start being more active here.
>>8600938
Well I'd give you my old xp, but I'm Canadian. She's old but she works. Got my laptop now.

I bought a laptop for $800 last year because my PC was out of comission.
I fixed my PC less than a week later and I never ever use the laptop. It's the biggest example of buyer's remorse in my life and yet I cant bring myself to sell it because "what if I need it?"
Don't be like me.

There is just corrupted garbage now. I started 4Chan in 2013, supposedly way after the golden days. EVEN THEN the quality has decreased so much in the last few years that I can't even stomach it any more. I couldn't even begin to describe what has been lost.
Idle like to just blame /pol/, but they are only a large chunk of the problem.
>>8601077
I'm getting burnt out on souls too.
I enjoy invading too much though, especially in 3.
I love it so much I made a second character exclusively just so I can fuck people over in the Catacombs and Ithryll..
I'll get bored of it eventually and go back to my fuck-huge 3ds backlog.
>>8601203
wew, I agree with you.
/v/ was pretty fucking awful in 2013 and 2014 though.
>>8601190
okay, honestly, the ps4 has good games, but it has a shit tier selection of ps3 games that got ported over.
If I were you I'd get a used ps3 for cheap and stock up on ps3 games. They are dirt fucking cheap and you can blow like $50 on a decent amount of games for it. Then there's all those ps1 and ps2 games on the store for it if you're not into emulating. And if that won't work, wait until the ps4 neo whatever gets released and regular ps4 systems get a price drop.
>>8601194
I wanted to show you a screenshot of my village at the end of chapter 1. It could use some polishing for sure but I like it.

>>8601265
Oh I already got a ps4 slim back during last Black friday, got it for only $230. I'm playing it right now, more than i ever used that laptop.
I was considering getting a ps3, mainly so I can play Demon's Souls. I'm just unsure about buying a dead console, like, do I really need it?
It's been a long time... let's see if they fucked it up with the updates. Or if I even remember the controls.
Name my kobold scaly. Also what should I be?
>>8601219
>I enjoy invading too much though, especially in 3.
You're the only person I've seen that actually enjoys invading in ds3. Being an invader is such garbage in this game and the PvP is honestly trash. It's not the weapon balancing or lack of paise that's bad, rolling is jsut too god damn good. It's awful to hit the enemy, get a hit sound, but it doesn't count because they were rolling or the netcode is so bad that they just get a freebie anyway.
Honestly, I love DS2 so much more than DS3, I'll be replaying that before I replay ds3.

You can get a surprising amount of shit for under $400, but unfortunately it's all windows 10.
>>8601420
You're right about all that. But it feels great beating your first 1v3.
And there's so many new ways to fuck with people as an invader, especially as a purple. You just gotta get a little creative.
Not only that but I keep my characters under 50 with unupgraded weapons for those reasons.
I think I can finally ditch the series with this last dlc though.
>>8601422
So I have Danny the Bolt Thrower (lvl1 kobold hunter) also +4 ring of strength first thing. Holy shit.

>>8602393
A little but it was never the same after the mods cracked down and banned the weekend lewd threads. After that it stopped being the board you could talk about everything in, the one board you needed, we were so proud of that too. A bunch of the good community left and it when downhill from there. Has never been the same... I don't know how to explain it other than it got stale, a shadow of its former self, a single pathetic inbred survivor of a once great civilization.

That's not a DS3 thing, that's every souls game. Every single one.
>>8610621
No, he is correct about rolls being way too potent.
In one and two, you could chain about five rolls. In three, you can chain 14-15 depending on rings. The real kicker though is that medium roll in three has nearly the i-frames of darkwood grain ring flips from the first game.
I remember the first time I picked up Ds3 I rolled twice and exclaimed "YOU CAN CANCEL A ROLL WITH A ROLL!?!".
If they balanced the game so that forcing a player to complete their rolling animation just like how it did in ds1-2, the pvp would have been a lot better. It made roll catching a skill based on a player's execution, not a trait specific to only a few quirky weapons with super big sweepy hitboxes.
It does allow for more grueling pve though, so I will give them that. I still havent beaten NG+7 Gael. I salute all the effort they put into the fight. Coupled with his massive health pool, he is actually making me struggle for once.
>Taking an intro computer science course because my 4 on the AP exam didn't cut it.

>NG+7
Holy fuck, and I thought I was a masochist for doing a sl1 run in dark souls 1.

>>8611185
>I know what I'm doing
Really? Why did you assume you'd be allowed to use any modules not explicitly stated?
>>8611327
Why should I assume that? Why should I be punished for knowing more?
I took 3 years of computer science classes in high school and was sent back into the beginning anyways, being penalized for knowing things is infuriating.
>>8610941
Okay but that doesn't have anything to do with the netcode, the hit sound, animations not matching etc which is the frustrating thing in every souls game.
>>8611251
I've never done an sl1 run, and I've always thought those would be way harder. Ds3 lets you have so much dps that most of the fights actually go quicker when you are on a character thats ready for it. Gael though...
The only annoying thing is that up in those difficulties, a few of the bosses just have moves that arent meant to oneshot that will. Gael has an uppercut he likes to throw semi randomly in chains that will instagib me (or nearly) through my armor and steel protection +3 ring.
I have started summoning randoms just for laughs and watch them get rekt since the game doesnt tell you that your host is in hypermode.
>>8611387
Yes, I agree. I hate it as well. However, status effects like bleed apply through those phantom hits. Bleed builds work pretty well in 3 because of that, and stacking carthus rouge on top of it.
>>8610941
>ng+7
What. You actually whent through it 8 times?
>>8611390
I don't ever think I'll take my characters past NG+ because of how bullshit the Dancer fight is.
Even worse that you need to get past it for all that pvp shit if you want to do low level invasions.
Getting kinda bored with the souls games in general desu, this last dlc is pretty good though.
>>8611463
>how bullshit the Dancer fight is.
Am I reading this right? The Dancer is ez pz
Too easy in fact, I wish she had twice the health in NG+. I love her fight but it just ends so fast.
>>8611369
>Why should I assume that?
Pretty standard not to assume anything you don't know, especially on tests. If they don't tell you you can import things, don't import things.
>Why should I be punished for knowing more?
You're punished for "relying" on the Math module, which to them could indicate you don't know how to solve the problems the module solves for you. It's like complaining that you get points docked on a list-sorting method because you called List.sort(lst).
Hell, my recent compsci project involved lists in OCaml; there was a specific requirement that if we wanted to use fold/map, we had to write it ourselves.
>being penalized for knowing things is infuriating
You're being penalized for not knowing your environment.
>>8611526
Okay let me re-state that.
The dancer fight is bullshit when you're going in with 10 vitality for the purpose of low level invading.
I can breeze through Pontiff, and don't really have trouble with other fights, but Dancer is fucking awful on low level runs.
>>8611537
I understand your point, but I feel using sqrt(x) over x**0.5 doesn't merit the same response.
Plus I was never told I couldn't import things and that being my norm I made a faulty assumption. While I'm still in the wrong can I really be blamed for something like that?
>>8611452
Truth be told, I lost track, especially since i halted and started save scumming for awhile to test builds. It might actually be NG+6 or NG+8, because I cycled into another newgame only to roll back to a save for pvp reasons. I've stuck with lvl 130 though, still can pvp whenever i want.
I've also heard the bosses dont get any harder past NG+3 in ds3, but I think that might be false, because i fought my friends Gael who is in NG+3 and his coop Gael has less health than my solo Gael, so idk.
>>8611463
Dancer is really tricky if you haven't fought her a lot. She still gets me sometimes because her attacks are so delayed. I also get grabbed when i go greedy and close-roll her hand, roll through, then get grabbed anyway because i forget that the grab box is the size of a freight train.
>>8611645
>x**0.5
We still talking about Java, here? ** isn't a valid operator. This relates to my earlier point of "solving problems the module usually solves for you."
>that being my norm
In what context? I've never been able to assume I could import anything in a school setting.
>can I really be blamed for something like that?
Somewhat. While you may have a valid reason to not know what's expected (assuming it never said on the test that you can't import things rather than you misremembering), an incorrect answer is still an incorrect answer. If you did anything with the Math import, that's incorrect (and if you didn't... unused imports are poor coding practice).
>>8611812
This is python.
I'm really just completely in the wrong here, the issue is the class isn't for me. I shouldn't be in it and I should have tried to skip it anyways. The only reason I didn't was I spoke with the instructor and she promised me if I didn't get a 5 on the AP exam I wouldn't be ready for the class up. 4 months later and I smell bullshit, we just started for loops.
>>8611452
Oh and, if you meant "you went through the dlc 8 times?" no, the dlc inherits whatever NG+ you are in at the time.
>>8611927
This far into the semester, might as well stick through it and get an easy A to boost your GPA. Might want to see if you can test out of the next course, but for now it's always nice to have an easy course.
I know your pain, though - my university didn't accept compsci APs (fortunately took math APs so I didn't have to sit through goddamn Algebra). Two semesters of Java I taught myself in middle school.
I'd guess her response was because the low end of a 4 does tend to mean they might need that extra semester.

>Reeee the feet are incorrect
>Reeee no chest boner
>Reeee there is no old school Sergal
The autism was just too much.
But yeah, I prefer sergals of any kind, canon or closly similar.
(but none of that hyper body shit. You know the one.)

Fucking women knights!
>>8601842
Moar?
>>8622460
>That subtle keelbone.
Exquisite.
But yeah, I get what you mean. That footfag and guy with the chubby sergalsona were annoying too.
>>8602941
>"He said Yeezy taught him"
whatever happened to skadjer anyway
>>8624593
That used to be a male knight, hence "M-m-my...! It's gone!?"
>>8626241
Goddamn rookie knights! They get a sword and think they can take on anything!
>>8626469
this is called for
>>8624593
It WAS a male knight, apparently.
"He" even panics that his dick is gone.
The lack of armor/protection of any kind, and thinking he could will himself out of spells screams weeb. I mean, if I were to take it as more than tg fetish fodder.

>>8630695
This is strange.. Normally I'd agree in a heartbeat, since I love reptilian/avian feet to death, talons 'n all.
..but her "smooth-scaly-canine paws" kind of makes it work, imho. Looks really graceful, and more feral. Makes the dergs look more gentle somehow (which I suppose isn't always a good thing.)

Hey /scaly/ thanks for your help with my reptilian alien design. I got the story finished, and the Ebooks and artwork are ready, I hope you like them.
Highway to Krell:
>There is an infestation of tiny lizards on the Pinwheel, and Doctor Reid is assigned a crack team of scientists to get to the bottom of it before they threaten the space station's air supply. The more they discover, the stranger things get. Where did these critters come from, and how are the enigmatic Krell involved?
