Some of you might recall a fic I wrote a while back called House of Memories.

To those of you who missed it, a brief summary: Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde attend a charity dinner celebrating the Mammal Inclusion Initiative, where Judy meets movie star Jack Savage. He invites her to his place for drinks, and she takes a quick liking to him. Jack's intent and methods, however, may be less wholesome than they appear.

Now, onto the fun part!

I've finally wrote a proper chapter 2 for it. I warn this is a first, rough draft, but this chapter is more of a transition to the next chapters (Up to 5 or 6 total chapters, depending on how I go about it) so it's not a huge deal if it's a little weaker when you read it. Later chapters will not be released in as rough a state, as they're much more crucial, but I'm just eager.

I present House of Memories, Chapter 2. It has been a few weeks since Judy's incident with Jack, and she's finally being released from the hospital ward she was in. Things are a little less than good.

I saw you already removed the original ending from chapter 1; I wonder how all of this is going to end. Obviously things are never going to be 100% ok ever again, since Judy was subjected for a full week, not counting the instances before that. It is going to take months to get back anywhere to near functioning status, and going to be a bumpy road not just for her but for Nick as well.

For chapter 2 it may feel a little weak, but I believe that is mainly because, as you said, it is a transition chapter rather than a section where anything of real plot relevance happens. It did help set the tone though, what Judy believes is good for her, what she fears, and a glimpse of Nick trying to bring back some type of normalcy back into their lives. Looking forward to how those play out.

I would have thought the system is set up in the way to give preference to the parents wanting to adopt kids of their own species, with standard of living coming second.

So if two middle-class couples want to adopt a tiger cub, preference would be given to fellow tigers.
