Three times? I could see once and that was only to offer testimony at Keiths trail before her Mother actually came in a accomplished way more than she ever did, beyond that she hasn't done much save get in the way

She nearly burned down the ship which ended up causing a tense situation between Eric, Mike, and Evals to almost go into full blown meltdown

She tried to frame Eric as a pedophile to get herself out of trouble when shit almost just went Nuclear not but minutes earlier. And it was all pointless as she ended up in the Brig anyway.

She sensed Danger when Keith was being deceived, but so did Lynn so if she wasn't there than Lynn would have been the one to warn Keith and he did, Maddie just backed him up.

About the only time she proven herself actually useful (since leaving the Isles I mean) was in the fight where she showed herself to be good backup even if shes not that great at fighting and was able talk down a merc without so much as drawing her sword.

She got potential, but as I said right now she more or less just a discount Tiny Tina, an obnoxious character who occasionally offers backup and comedic relief but otherwise has few redeeming qualities worth a damn

Not intentionally but consequentially, furthermore is Mike and Evals freedom actually critical to the plot? Hell are Mike and Evals even important anymore now the ships gone?

I guess we won't know until later but regardless that entire event was basically filler, something which could have been omitted without impacting the larger plot. Eric had already suggested Edinmire as a port even before there was talk about freeing his slaves because its closest on the path to Lyn'Knoll so they would have ended up there anyway even without the deal.

Therefore Maddie's accidental interference there didn't really make a huge impact in advancing the plot.

Just like to add that I think Eric will end up following Trace to Lyn'Knoll because he can't just cut Mike or Kat loose into the world and he can't trust leaving them with humans during a time of war where there is the possibility they could end up slaves again, Evals will follow Mike so they will still be part of the story. Eric can't take Kat with him because him setting her free breaks the law and pretending shes still his slave would defeat the purpose of his gesture to her, and he if dumps the problem on Trace it would mean abandoning Kat so I think he'll end up tagging along.

Also a land where Keidran, Basitins and Humans live together in peace and harmony... must have some interesting woman in it to 'paint'

They'll probably play a key role by the end, but for now they are sort of just there.

I think Eric had kind of an awakening when he realized what he was doing was hurting Kat. Doesn't make up for the way he treated Evals and almost treated Mike, but Kat at least made him take a step back and look at it from her perspective.

But ironically for Kat, she's never been further from her ideal fairy tail ending where Eric falls in love with her. Hearing that Eric loves her as a sister seems to have driven her further away from him if anything, because even if he's starting to realize the error of his ways with slavery, she felt like her own emotional needs have been dismissed. "I love you... like a sister" is not what she had been hoping and waiting her whole life to hear.

I disagree, she was pretty ecstatic when Eric showed up after the ship blew up and I don't think it was just because it was expected and Eric showed he cares about her deeply enough to put her welfare ahead of that of his livelihood and possessions (something completely out of his character). There is still chemistry there, whether it will go the direction of romance or brother and sister doesn't really matter, I don't see Eric abandoning her now or Kat simply shrugging off Eric because he doesn't see her like she wants him to. They still love each other, that is what counts.

Their relationship did prove pretty reliant, although there was kind of a moment of doubt for Kat where she got into that squabble over making Natani the vest using that expensive material without his permission, although obviously Eric was going to forgive her for that. It's like if a child stole $20 from her dad's wallet-- the dad would be pissed off but he's not going to be mad at her forever over $20.

Hell I'd say the relationship between Eric and Mike and Evals proved somewhat reliant as well. Despite everything done to them (especially recently), despite the fact Eric and Trace were off to secure their freedom, they remained loyal to Eric without having any reason to and plenty of reasons not to be.

They could have just let the ship burn with everything inside (they didn't know Natani and Kat were on board), got their payback on Eric for years of slavery and what he did before they made port, yet instead? They hopped aboard and tried to save as much of his livelihood as they could.

I could understand that from Mike, but Evals? Why would he do that? I think its because despite everything he does see Eric as more than a scumbag, likely not a friend but still somebody he does have some inkling of care about. Gives me hope they will reconcile, maybe help Eric on his road to redemption if such a thing occurs. Just my two piece of gold on the scene.

Speaking of which though, something I find odd about Keith and Natani's relationship is that Natani has no problem making everyone think her and Keith are gay, but she won't even let her close friends know the truth about her. It's pretty selfish of her to do that to him, and I hope that she comes to realize it eventually.

It's true that the wolves would likely never except her if they found out she had been lying about her sex the whole time, but why would she want to go back anyway? It's not like there'd be any place for Keith in her old life anyway.

That would pretty much end Keith's legitimacy as ambassador, though, and it would put him at risk of not only losing his sweet new job but potentially get him banished again. If he marries an outsider the basitins would get over it, and maybe even understand it as beneficial since it strengthens his position as a bridge between the Basitin Isles and the outside world, but not if his wife is going to be exploiting him for unscrupulous and illegal activities.

If Natani is going to be with Keith, it meas giving up the Assassin's life. And to that she should say good riddance, because her and Zen are terrible assassins anyway and that life has brought them nothing but grief and misery. Prior to finding out Natani was a girl, Keith didn't show any romantic interest in her. And when he did find out, it was in the most sexually tense way possible.

The sexual tension largely grew out of the compromising circumstances they constantly found in, however because Keith knew Nat's secret, he was one of the only people she could confide in. Nat had probably never been romantically involved with anyone due both to the trust problem, and because she didn't even know whether she was into boys or girls since she's a woman trying to live as a man. Because she had nothing to hide from Keith though, she was actually able to start exploring what it is that she wants.

I too was thoroughly disgusted by the idea of furries years ago but I got roped in later. I read some of Twokinds our of morbid curiousity when people were discussing webcomics, and I actually thought it was alright (possibly in part because of my fetish for anime bath scenes), but never would have admitted it at the time. I kind of forgot about it until a few years later.

I eventually realized that my "morbid curiousity" about furries was actually because I was attracted to anthro art but rejected it and got autistic about it like a good little monkey trained by /b/, and in my search for quality furry spank material I stumbled back onto Twokinds and saw that the art had gotten a lot better.

I dunno, Tom is at least aware that the reaction to Clovis was very positive and that a lot of people want more, and that he may have had a hand in fueling the ZenXClovis shipper fires.

The only other hint of romance we've seen for Zen in the comic is that Raine said he's cute. Raine is already in the middle of the Sythe and Red rivalry though and she doesn't even know Zen at all, so that seems highly unlikely to me.

There's just something about Zen and Clovis just seems oddly perfect. Clovis had been attracted to Natani in the past, and Zen is basically a male version of Natani. And if anyone can put up with Clovis' peculiar situation it would be Zen, since he went through basically the same "I'm a man trapped in a woman's body" shit with Natani for years.

Absolutely None. Even if Eric by some miracle only wanted to paint her natural body for purely professional reasons with no perversion behind his intentions... Natani still would never allow it.

A painting of herself nude or looking feminine would basically be the embodiment of everything she loaths. Keep in mind Raine switches between Full Human and Full Keidran, and a weird mishmash of the two at any given time. As a result her biological clock must be confused as all living fuck since Keidran are only fertile twice a year preceded by a heat while humans are fertile for about a week every single month with no heat.

My guess, Raine doesn't experience a heat and may not even be fertile unless she choose a form and sticks to it long enough for her body to go through its normal uninterrupted reproductive cycle

While Natani and Keith are growing closer I don't think Natani is ready for the possibility of having kids with him, after Trace and Flora somehow proved viable I don't think she'd take the risk. That being said I don't think we'll get a mini arc focusing on Natani being in heat again, Keith and her may have sex but it won't be during her heat when shes not thinking straight and it definitely won't be the week after. Natani is an exceptionally strong and athletic woman though, and I think that's what people's immediate impression would be if they saw her immortalized-self. I think that the ultimate destination on her road to self-acceptance is to accept that she's a strong woman, and that being a woman doesn't mean she can't be herself.

That is entire point I've been making, its why she wouldn't ever allow a portrait of her even for Keith. Even if she were to no longer associate femininity with weakness, she knows other people are not so enlightened, that when they boobs it doesn't matter how many muscles you have, how elegantly your dressed or how heroic your pose is. They'll make misconceptions based on their expectations of what a woman is and what they are capable of, something Natani absolutely loaths with every fiber of her being.

A painting cannot properly convey who she is, her struggles, her strengths, or her capabilities and for that reason she'd not allow it because all those things are super important to her and a painting showing off her womanhood is almost guaranteed to distract from that for anybody who doesn't know her. She isn't Adelaide, she isn't comfortable flaunting her femininity and I don't think she ever will be even when she grows to accept it, because its not who she is, its just a consequence of what she is.

I think Zen would have been a better example though than the little girl impressed by Natani's strength. Zen has all the misconceptions about Natani that Natani seeks to actively avoid from other people, and he doesn't even seem to be aware of it. He misunderstands her motivations, her drives, and her strengths and the mental link hasn't cleared any of it up for him and its made things worse for Natani. When he looks at Natani he sees the same frightened little vulnerable sister from years before, I mean its understandable since hes her Big Brother and loves her to death but still I think he is one of the biggest things holding Natani back.

Zen accepting Natani for the person shes become now and not that scared sister would probably have a biggest impact on her of all.

I think the only reason he doesn't hate Karen or is resentful of the group is that it was sort of an inevitability even if they weren't involved. Sythe is no killer and he doesn't hate humans, on the contrary he sort of admires them from the times he dealt with them when there was still relative peace.

If it wasn't Maren, Raine, Karen, and Red he was sent after first, he probably would have done the same thing anyway and warned whoever he found that they were in danger until he'd be caught doing it.

Him being labeled a traitor was probably just a matter of time, and while it sucks that hes currently an enemy of his own people, he probably takes solace in the fact that at least his conscience is clear of the bloodshed he'd have been expected to do in the name of the wolves war, and also that the humans he ended up with at very seem like good people, unlike the Templars.

I just realized something about Zen I'm surprised doesn't come up more often. Out of the two Magi brothers, we've only really seen Natani fight seriously, but never Zen. Every time Zen has been in the comic he hasn't had a serious intent to kill, and he wasn't giving it his all, instead acting somewhat like a bumbling clown.

Natani said earlier in the comic that she wasn't actually the fighter of the two, Zen was so it's got me curious....

Three things:

1. Red is trained, he is a former student of Templar Academy and he also is a member of the local militia.

2. Red is not a youth, hes older than Trace is

3. You forget that Zen was distracted by Sythe at the time having fallen for a trick which was actually pretty clever given Sythe and Red had been at each others throats since before Zen even showed up, he'd have had little reason to believe they would actually work together like they did and every reason to believe Sythe would have done exactly what he appeared to be doing.

Eh, the way I see it the multi-breast thing is still kind of just a joke. You could interpret Sythe's comment at face value, or you could go with Red's interpretation that he was just dicking with him.

Kind of the whole joke of that drawing though is that the most obviously placed nipples don't have censor bars over them, while the supposed rows of them on their abdomens (which, if they did hypothetically exist, are basically invisible) do.
