Preschool shows don't get much attention since most anons are too cool to enjoy the chill factor in watching them and/or aren't to be trusted around little children. I have the excuse that I've hidden my power level well enough that I actually ended up procreatating a few times and now enjoy watching with my own genetic spawn. By my estimate I have a good five or six years until the youngest gets old enough to chide me for watching shows "for babies", and when that day comes I fear my heart will break. I've followed Doc McStuffins since the beginning, and noticed it has it's share of waifus, like Darla, Southwest Sal, the astronaut girl, and the alien pixie girl, so many I've taken to referring to the show as Dick McStiffens. I was happy to see the world of McStuffinsville introduced, pushing the fantasy element further with the idea that there's a place where the toys are more than just what they physically are in kids rooms. The thing that gave me most joy seeing was that in the toy world they're actually larger in size, closer to Doc's height so she can interact with them better as characters, which indicates they aren't stuck as just small toys. The closer-to-human size increase coupled with the fact that now there's nothing that necessarily says that they can't have sexy bits makes characters like Darla and Southwest Sal infinitely more fuckable, and thus more suitable for lewds.

It vexes me that, after two years, Dulcinea from the Netflix Puss In Boots cartoon is still obscure. I know some images are less than flattering, but for the most part, she's cute as hell and I love her personality. She's gone through a lot of character development.

Clover, from the Madagascar cartoon which premiered at roughly the same time, has an entire page on e621. Yet Dulcinea has, what, three images? And one is a duplicate.

I watched a great many episodes, but not all of them. It's, uh... I love the continuity and the world-building, and I really like some of the imaginative directions they take the show. There are a lot of different character types in each season that keeps things fresh.

But there's only so much you can do with a show where your main character is named Paddle Pop. The stiff animation is always there and the main villain dies and gets resurrected constantly. Got old after a while.

The Magic Crystal. Kid is an orphan who Santa's evil twin brother wants to use to take over Christmas. It's probably as stupid as it sounds. The squirrel-thing lives in a dumpster that he accidentally destroys, so she decided to tag along with him because she has nowhere else to go. The animated series based on it is called Red Caps. You can watch six of the twenty episodes on Vimeo. Jiffy seems to have less of a role in the series because it focuses on more characters.

It still pisses me off that Rainbow Cat & Blue Rabbit ended in the trainwreck that it did. Those early /co/ and /trash/ threads were buzzing. I even spent tons of hours translating the Chinese episodes into English and I don't even know Chinese. Then it ended suddenly when /co/ decided that Chinese animation wasn't allowed.

Sally is still the greatest. The beaten and bruised, mind-controlled squirrel. She went through so much hell in that season. For the longest time, I thought about her constantly. She was a character who I cared about more than any other. But times has a way of stripping a man of his thoughts and I gradually moved on.

But I came across this image today. Somebody drew her less than two weeks ago. I loved her. I wish I could have made her show popular. Lord knows I tried.

There are tiers. In general, educational pre-school cartoons are worse than adventure pre-school cartoons. I'll happily watch Whisker Haven Tales where the characters do cute things to accomplish a cute goal, but I'd rather get shot in the head before watching anything that talks to the audience and tries to teach them about colors.

Dulcinea only has four fingers, all the other cats (like Puss) have five. She does look more cartoony than, say, Kitty Softpaws, so it never clicked in my head until now that she's deformed. What is it with Puss and females with malformed/mutilated hands or feet? Kitty got declawed by her previous owner, and now Dulcinea. Allegedly. It sort of feels like they decided to just have fun with the English dub, given how wacky a lot of the dialogue is. At one point, I had a lot of other clips from the show on YouTube, but I removed them. Nobody ever really expressed interest in it, perhaps for good reason, but I still really like Hui.

I'm not entirely sure what she's supposed to be, but ever since I first saw her, I really liked her. Problem is: her show doesn't exist. Her name is Chlöe and she was supposed to be a character in the animated series Tipto. Officially, it's still in development, but I think that's because its animation studio doesn't want to admit defeat. They've made several cartoons since then.

A lot of obscure waifus that get posted are from shows and games that a lot of people wouldn't exactly consider to be "good". That's usually why they're obscure in the first place. There's no reason you can't like a character even if you don't like their source. In fact, making the character better known is a good way to give them some life independent of their source.
