Yeah, but HDH is a special level of terrible.

Look at how abysmally low Chadley's score is. You can tell that even he didn't want to play it. He just went "Is my score better than Abigail's? Yeah? Alright, I'm done with this shit." His score could've been only 5 points higher than hers and that would've been good enough to stop playing.

The game doesn't even work properly on all browsers, like some of them don't even want to deal with that shit. Or maybe they're trying to save you from experiencing it. "This game is shit, no amount of effort you put into making it work will be worth it."

It's not even Neopets-related, other than that there is somebody who sells hotdogs who isn't even in the game. They just shoe-horned in a game about a sentient hotdog, because somebody at the office was drunk and didn't give a shit.

Depends on your budget. Training can be done over time with the ray and cupcakes, but lab rats tend to have high stats, low level so you might find it difficult to use the training schools

You should be able to even out those stats just fine, they're actually pretty well balanced for a lab pet. (For comparison, at one point my lab pet had something like 500 HP, 300 strength, and 60 defence.) If you're willing, grind level until you get to 75 and then get your strength and defence up. Cupcakes will make getting the other stats a lot faster if you wanna go that route; but even if you don't, regular codestones are cheap right now and you should be able to offset training costs with BD loot.

The Faerie abilities are totally worth it too if you don't already have them, An Icicle at level 25 gives 6 icons every round and Lens Flare at 50 is a full blocker and basically gives you a free turn.

I've found I really enjoy Revel Roundup. Atmosphere, the simple grid movement based system, & I like how the items look.

Neopets was sold to Nickelodeon who did nothing with it
Then Viacom bought it, who monetised the shit out of everything. Now you can play dress up and spend real money on clothes and shit.
Ofcourse, you can also not spend real money and do basically the same thing.
Then Viacom sold to Jumpstart, a kid software company that fired the old staff and have done basically nothing other than shit out new clothes for pets.

Still, everything from the old days more or less works now, and the only people who play are bored college aged students who like collecting things and getting neopoints, and bored soccer moms with more money than sense.

They can't even handle throwing together a new plot for the site. Producing enough content for an MMO, and regularly adding more content to keep people interested, is far beyond their ability. Not to mention actually coding something that works properly and having servers that don't just completely shit themselves sometimes for absolutely no reason.

The world definitely has enough interesting history and lore, so there's plenty to work with if somebody did want to do something with it. I'm kind of surprised that I haven't seen any sort of neopets fangames whatsoever. Though I suppose there isn't much original that the fans could do, since neopets already shoves their characters into poorly made recreations of every genre imaginable with their flash games.
