Not dead. Starting in one hour.
>>
You are Irving Miles, a very bored Huntsman.
After getting an examination from one Doctor Aiden, you're left with about half an hour before you're supposed to meet your employer (who requested you go to the doctor).

Now, on this windy and warm summer night in Vale, you choose to ...

A. Go to the meeting spot early anyway.
B. Head to the bar you saw on your way here.
C. Faff about with your Semblance.
D. [Write in]
>>
>>8481641
A>B>C
>>
>>8482704

You start walking towards the meeting point, in the industrial district.

Or rather that part of it that's in a state of complete disrepair, with nothing going on there. At least nothing that's on the books.

You bump into a tall faunus woman on your way there, but you keep walking.

Now you're just outside of the building you were meant to meet at. The wear of time shows clearly, as the cracks between bricks grew until entire chucks of the wall simply fell off. Greenery grows into it, scaling this decrepit scructure nearly to the very top.

There seems to be no one around as you make your way towards an imposing set of doors, thoroughly rusted at the hinges and edges.

A. Pry the doors open.
B. Kick them down.
C. Knock.
D. Use your Semblance.

You guys keep choosing the most boring options.
>>8483081
You opt to simply knock twice at the door.

THOMP.

Unfortunately for you, before you can knock a second time, the doors fall over, as the tiny amount of force you applied finally forced the hinges to break.

Oh well, guess that solves that.

You make your way through the corridor, which twists and turns nonsensically until you end up on a catwalk, overlooking a vast room. It's surprisingly well-lit, you can easily see gratings, reservoirs, pipes, and chains. What remains of the equipment once used is here now simply a separator between makeshift, crowded rooms. You're far from being alone.

One of the denizens approaches you, weapon raised.

"Put that thing away, I just got back from the doc early", you say in response.

The man raises an eyebrow, before replying "Oh, right. Yeah I recognize you now. Boss man's expectin' you in the room at the end of the hallway."

You nod, and continue around the passage until you end up in a less narrow hall. Shimmering blue light periodically turning on and off at the end of it.

You find a figure with their back turned to you, working on something on a bench in front of them. The light's so intense you can't make out any real details.

Before you know it, a mechanical appendage streches from the man (who hasn't even moved from that spot) all the way to you. A three-pronged claw opens up, circling your face like an animal sniffing a strage new scent.

"You're early" you hear coming from the figure. "Put these on".
The meachnical limb has, pinched in between its "fingers" a pair of thick goggles.

A. Put them on.
B. "I'll just wait outside"
>>
>>8484097
B>A
>>
>>8484097
A>B
>>
>>8484097

A

B is not an option for me.
>>
>>8484097

You comply and take the goggles, putting them on.The difference is astonishing, you can see the room clearly now, as much of the light doesn't stike your eyes.

"This is going to take a minute" murmurs your boss.

You can better make out the figure now. He's wearing a black voat with purple and silver details on the edges of the fabric, long boots with no visible zipper, buckle, or strings.

Now the interesting part is the fact that he actually has four of those mechanical... arms?
They're not exactly "arms" like human ones. They have dozens of joints that seem to bend in any direction, with fibres within them holding the segments together. These things look more like really long spines.
The "arms" are all housed on a set of pauldrons connected to each other.

You step forward a bit to take a look at what he's up to.
In front of him is an operating table, and on it is a man in a suit of silver armour and a red visor.
Oh and the guy has several pieces of him torn off. Which boss is working on.
The mechanical limbs and the man's dextrous hands work together in perfect unison, performing what you supposed is the cyborg equivalent of surgegy.
Spools of thick wire pass into the skin, putting a torn arm back together from several dozen pieces, before melting into the patient.
All of the other movements he performs are simply too fast for you to keep track of.

The mechanical limbs pull back, signifying that the procedure is done.

The armoured man sits up, stretching his arms around a bit to get comfortable with the procedure.

"So, this the guy?" asks the man in silver.
"Do you have doubts?" retorts the man in black.
"As a matter of fact, I do."

The armoured man points... your own gun at you!?
How? He wasn't even close enough to be able to grab it!

A. Don't get shot.
B. Incapacitate the fucker before he can shoot you.
>>
>>8485196
B>A

Remember the basics of CQC
>>
>>8485196

C. "Let's save some bullets here and just talk."

In a cool suave way.
>>
>>8485488
This
>>
>>8485196

"Heeey now, there's no need to-"

You can hear the all too familiar click of that gun as he applies the tiniest amount of pressure to the trigger.
You instinctively activate your Semblance ; Sublimation.
Not a very original name, but it describes it perfectly, and it sounds all fancy-like.
Your body turns into a gaseous cloud, your Aura enveloping your new form.
The bullet passes through you harmlessly (the wall however, now has a dent half a foot across and deep) as you bridge the gap between you and your assailant, locking his arm in place.

Or at least you thought you were. Somehow he still didn't get hit by you, like at all. It's not that he dodged or that you missed. You just performed the real life equivalent of whiffing a move in those fighting games you suck at.

"Wait what" you spout, beffudled by what just hapenned.
"Yeah, he's alright. Wecome to the team" the armoured man responds.
"You'll have to forgive him for that. He's just giddy that he gets to finally move again. And that he gets to work alongside someone at least somewhat competent for a change" murmurs the man in black, in a soothing, deep, dulcet tone.

The kinghtly figure reaches out his arm, to shake your hand.

A. Fair's fair. He just wanted to see that you're not a jobber.
B. Refuse to shake his hand.
C. Act like you didn't notice.
D. CQC him to see if he's "somewhat competent". Fair's fair.

It looks like he's bordering on psychopath (lack of empathy and the further need to damage her over and over again for an overblown sense of gratifying justice for himself) The repeated cases makes it obvious that he has developed an unrelenting sadistic image for her.

The woman is irresponsible and is plain detached of her own character (which may stem from a borderline personality disorder.), harping on the result of her actions rather than the why more so and may take comfort on shifting all the blame onto him as a focal point of her victim status (she appears to be narcissistic too).

Anon, I don't think they're both fun to hang out with.

Psychopaths have a tendency to manipulate people for ulterior gratification, appealing mostly from a position of weakness.
(He has already has an established relationship with them too so it makes the emphatic reasoning easier)

The fact that the woman already is unstable enough throughout the years (history of unstable relationships, impulsive, disconnect from her action's CONSEQUENCES, etc.) and the recent cheating suggests he just used that to his advantage.

Miles isn't in charge of RvB, or any shows anymore. He's overseer of writing for the Animation department.

>>8566968
I don't see how that's correlated. I think he's a disgusting excuse for a human and a terrible writer and the fact that he decided to incorporate his irl traits such as inability to swim into Neptune make both of them that much worse.

You reach out your hand to shake his own, and share a brief laugh. His grasp is firm and confident.

The man in the coat lets the hood veiling him fall, revealing hair swept back, with a light sheen to it. It was of a rather odd purple color, just shy of being gray.

"I'm assuming you didn't have trouble with the door?" he asks as he takes off his protective goggles and undoes the laces holding his mask together, revealing an ivory face and sharp features.
"No, matter of fact it seemed a little too eager to open up" you remark.
"Ah, so it fell down again?" , to which you reply by nodding.

"Well, that's enough of that" interrupts the man in armor. "We've got much to do, and little time to work with. I assume you have the papers from the good doctor?"
"Of course I do" you say, a tad irritated as you pull out the documents. One of the "tentacles" (as you will now refer to) grabs it and places it in the boss' pocket.
"Good. As Krieger has mentioned, we have little time. We depart within the hour. I have urgent matters to attend to before then, so if you have any questions-"
He shifts his gaze towards something behind you, and raises an eyebrow inquisitively.

"Yes?"
A woman's voice answers "S-sorry I didn't mean to interrupt sir. Everything's ready for departure now."
"Good. And no need to refer to me 'sir', Carmine" he emphasizes her name, feeling a tad indignant.
"Y-yes sir! I mean..." she stutters around a bit before the sounds of her footsteps signal her leaving as they get quieter the further she travels down the hall.

"Carmine will brief you on the details before we leave. If you have any questions, now's the time. The name's M."

"Could you clarify about the mission? You seem a lot more collected and calm than Carmine, M."
"Your concern is... understandable. Your part in the mission is infiltration. A group known as 'The Bluebloods' have recently come across sensitive information. Krieger and Carmine will accompany you to their compound off on the boundary of Solitas."
"And you?"
"I'll be helping you from afar. But rest assured I'll be there soon enough. Anything else?"
"I think I'll manage."
"Good, then be here in a half-hour."

He heads off upwards, scaling the walls with the help of his 'tentacles' before reaching the edge of the ceiling-less room and going off into a different direction.
Krieger, who up until this point was dead quiet and motionless, hands you your pistol before leaving as well.

Something just now strikes you. If you're supposed to be going off towards Solitas, just what are they planning on using to get there? You certainly don't remember seeing any vehicles on your way way, nor did you spot a space large enough to potentially act as a hangar.

You slowly make your way down the corridor from which you came, looking for any signs of the man that M referred to as Krieger.
You take a look around, but can't seem to find any trace of him. He had vanished as soon as he left your sight.

"Oh, hello" murmurs a familiar voice coming from your left.
You turn around and find a woman at about chest height standing there, with locks of fiery hair cupping her face. A milky white face, with dark eyes and soft features looking at you inquisitively.

"Are you looking for something? We're not quite done preparing yet" she states, quite a lot more confidently than when she first appeared.
"Do you know where Krieger went? I've got something to ask him."
She reaches for her scroll, and checks the screen briefly before getting back to work on... whatever the fuck that thing she's working on. Once she's turned back around, you note a very nice curve to her posterior.

"He's just down the hall to your right."

A. "Thanks."
B. "So I hear you'll be coming with us?"
C. "Weren't you just stuttering a minute ago?"

You thank her as you leave her to her work. She must be in a hurry.

As you're about to reach the room Carmine pointed you towards, you hear a series of thuds and cracks echo throughout the hall. All in a predictable rythm.
Passing through the doorway, you find a well-lit room with racks of wapons adorning all of the walls. They were all so varied in the shapes and sizes. Your eyes galnce over a glaive, a pair of twinaxes, a hammer, a forked sword, an oddly-shaped shield, what looks like a guardless curved sword and so many more.
You feel like there's simply no end to all of these. What is all the more interesting is the fact that none of these weapons seem mass-produced. All have different kinds of embelishments, some none and some over the top, and in an array of colors.

In the center of the room is Krieger, wailling at one of those practice stands they used back at the academy. Though those usually took the beating well. This one looks about ready to fall over from the barrage of kicks it's receiving.

"How did you know I'd be here?" he punctuates his his sentence by delivering a blow that knocks the stand down, before turning his gaze to you.
"Did Carmine send you to pester me?"

"Pretty much. How's it hanging?"

A moment passes as he walks around the room, taking in the sight of all the armaments.

"That gun's not really yours" he stated.
"Wha- How'd you know?"
"Its grip is a tad too large for your hands. And its construction in nothing like the blade on your back."
"Astute observation. What does that have to do with anything?"
"It means you got it from someone else. And given that if you'd bought it from someone you would have gotten it made specifically for your grip. Which means..."

He takes up a Bident from a nearby rack, running a finger along a silver engravement going all the way from the tip of its shaft to the prongs.

"Are you suggesting I got it from killing someone?" you express.
"No. But judging by how you were the one who said it, I do believe so now" he responds. "I take it keeping trophies from your kills isn't a habit for you?" the man in silver adds.
"No, it isn't. So, all of these weapons here... are they yours now?"
"Yes. Though you needn't worry. I don't intend on taking yours."

He returns the bident to its place on the rack, and turns back to you again.

"There's still time before we depart. Would you rather spar or are you going to keep annoying me?"
"You serious?"
"Always. No weapons, of course. They're quite... unreliable, as you can see."

You take a fighting stance, remembering the basics of CQC.
Krieger responds in kind before taking a few steps forward.
You chose to stay where you are, and counter his attacks, as you're not too sure of his strengths and weaknesses.
Using his whole body to twist and add more force, he throws his fist at you in an uppercut motion, barely grazing your chin. He follows up with an attempt at a jab, which you catch.
As you try to attack him now, he sweeps his leg underneath yours, causing you to fall to the ground.
As he attempts to deliver a blow, you ...

A. Roll out of the way.
B. Use the longer reach of your leg to hit him.
C. Force him on to the ground too.

Using the superior reach of your leg, you kick him before he has a chance to strike you. He takes a step back as your foot grazes him and you use the momentum to get back on your feet.
You're close to each other again, waiting for the other to make a move.
You try to deliver a kick to his left side, which he blocks before he promptly uses his superior body mass to push you down while you have one foot off the ground. You swiftly dodge his attack, getting to understand his pattern.
You're fairly certain he wants you on the ground, where he'll likely have the advantage. You hate to say it, but he's a big guy.
You go on the offensive, performing several feints before delivering a hook to his side. Before you even have a chance to pull away,he locks his arm around yours before throwing you off your feet again. But this time, he choses not to even try to attack you.
Now, you wait for him to make a move, as he delivers a jab aimed at your face.
Blocking the fist by deviating it slightly off course with one hand, and using the other as leverage on his elbow, you put all of your body's weight to work to throw him to the ground.
He dodges the fist aimed at his head, but you manage to land a blow to it with a kick.

He's getting up, and you have a window to attack.

A. Use a quick punch to guarantee a hit.
B. Use this opportunity to the fullest and hit him with a powerful kick.
C. Refuse to take advantage of the situation, just as he did.

Is it just me, or is RT still treating RWBY like basically second best/bargain basement level, despite it being their most popular show? RvB is kind of living in its shadow now
>>

>>8578576
You take a step forward, and punch Krieger's head all in the same motion. But just as your fist is about to connect, he catches your wrist and pulls you forward.
Now he's holding you up in the air, ready to slam you into the ground.
Well siht, you could try to break the fall, or use your Semblance to escape. Because with the way he's holding you, there's no way you can break free.
Just as you're about to do something, a knock at the doorframe stops both of you combatants, drawing your eyes to the source of the sound.
Carmine is standing there, looking completely unphazed by your current situation.

"We're ready. Mister M say 'stop faffing about and get to the meeting point, we leave now' or something along those lines."
Krieger lets out a sigh. No, it's not so much that he lets the sigh out as much as he growled it out.
"And here we were just getting to the fun part" he says as he puts you down and reaches for a sword about as long as he is tall. He follows Carmine, and you follow suit.

TO BE CONTINUED.

Also choosing to kick would've resulted in him smashing you into the wall by just catching you and turning around.

As you walk, you feel the need to ask Krieger about all those weapons he had. When did he stop feeling guilt for taking human lives? Did that moment ever come? Were all of those weapons trophies? Was that just to make him look spookier to anyone who enters his room?

With his longer strides, Krieger pulls ahead of Carmine, leaving the two of you to walk in the silver knight's shadow.

"Soooo. I see you gotten aquainted " says the girl in red trying to keep up with the behemoth in front of you before realizing that he's long gone.
"Guess you could say that. Pretty rude of you to interrupt that moment we were having, if I do say so myself."
"Is that how you call getting absolutely demolished?" she snarks.
"I could've found a way out. I always do" you tell her while also reassuring yourself.
"Uh huh."

You finally reach Krieger, standing on top of an empty section of metal floor with yellow markings on it.

Once all three of you are on, the floor beneath you begins to descend. This goes on for a whole minute until you reach the very end signified with a "clang" The room is dusty, lit with white neon lamps. Before you stands something that looks like an aircraft. Well more of a shuttle.

In one swift movement, Krieger puts an arm on the hull and gets in. Carmine's a little more enthusiastic about the journey ahead. You follow suit.

"It... sure is packed in here" Carmine grunts, with two broad-shouldered men on either side of her.
A familiar voice over the intercom responds "This won't last very long."
"Y-yes sir."
You can practically feel the sigh of diaapointment coming from M, despite the intercom having turned off.

[]Anything you'd like to add? Things might get rowdy.
>>
>>8595548
The small aircraft rumbles a bit before you can hear a steady hum of the engine.
"Good day ladies and gentlemen. I'm M, your captain for today. Needless to say, keep your arms, legs and head" inside the craft at all times. Keep a smile on those beautiful faces and enjoy the flight."

An irritatingly catchy tune comes on as you feel the vehicle take off.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yK0P1Bk8Cx4

The acceleration hita you like a truck, before you adapt to it, and go back to normal.

"Oh, that's right! Irving, I never told you what my Semblance is" you hear the redhead say.
You shift your gaze towards her, as she tries to explain it. But rather than speak, she reaches out her hand forward, as it phases through the seat.
"So... intangibility?"
As you say that, you feel something tap your shoulder opposite of her.
You look over and see her hand poking out pf the inside of the door.
"Pretty neat, hey?"
"What about you, Krieger?"
A moment of silence passes. Carmine pokes at Krieger's head.
"Come oooon Krieger. We know his. it's only fair he knows ours too. It could help us."
"...I'm fast."
"Poo. You always avoid revealing it. I bet you're just doing this to spite me."
"..."
"Hmpph."
Carmine looks away from the man in armor, pouting like a disapointed circus patron who didn't get to see any of the animals perform tricks.

The aircraft shakes about violently, as a red light turns on in the cabin. You feel it shake as it dodges projectiles you can't see.

T.B.C. next post.
>>
>>8596124
What is Irving's semblance again? I can't seem to remember.
>>
>>8596124
You hear M's voice over the intercom, as calm as it was the first time say "We've encountered some minor turbulence as we've reached Solitas, please fasten your seatbelts and above all do not panic."

CLANG

This time, you clearly feel something graze the hull, scrapping away part of it.

"Okay, I may have been a little optimistic. Brace for impact"
As he says this, mechanical limbs, identical to M's, secure themselves around each of you. As if alive, wires from the inside of the limbs strech over you, like silk threads forming a cocoon, before you feel yourself forcibly ejected.

You feel your cozy cocoon crash through several objects before it hits the gound, eventually coming to a stop.
You pry your way out, and are greeted by a gust of wind and snow buffeting your face.

You look around, and see no signs of the rest of the crew.
You feel something vibrate in your pocket. It's a scroll you don't remember bringing with you.

"Irving." you hear that familiar grating metallic voice call out to you. "Continue towards the compound. The scroll will guide your way."
"Got it. Where are the others?"
"M's playing decoy for us, they don't suspect we've been launched already. Lost communications with Carmine."
"Wait, shouldn't we get her first then?"

Communication ended.

You decide to go find Carmine first. Heading down the trail left by your crash, you zip up the poofy over-sized coat you have.

Your feet make crunching noises as they sink through nearly half a foot of snow with each step.
You hop onto a tree, causing most of the snow on the branch you stand on to fall off. You continue to hop from one tree to another until one branch finally snaps, and you traverse the ground on foot again.

Taking a quick glance, you can't see any trace of her just yet. Some silhouettes in the distance draw your attention.

A. If you've seen them, odds are they've seen you. Attack before they have a chance to report your location.
B. Keep moving towards Carmine's last known position.
C. Lie in wait. Maybe you can get the drop on them.

After a moment, you hear some ruckus coming from the left of you - no the right.
It then dawns on you that they called in reinforcements.
The men with their body-sized square shields and rifle-spears advance on you from three separate directions, before they split off even more until they span a whole circle around you.

I know that's you.

And

>[x] Our duplicity has been revealed! We must make our escape!

Do we have any gadgets or utilities we can use to run? (Taking on a large group by yourself is never a good idea)

You can just turn into a gass cloud and avoid taking any damage while also being able to move at a slightly higher than average speed.
Lasts like a minute at most.

Try and talk your way out of it. You're just a wanderer, you saw the crash and were going to see if there were survivors, and if not, scavenge for parts/supplies.

Our mission is to infiltrate them, so maybe if we can make it seem like we're lost, we can join with them.

Alright fuck it I'm out.

Was Dryden or Thatcher the one who drew this? Somebody in the other thread wants to know.

i'm not sure

Thatch here, I can attest I didn't do that one.

Maya's yours though, right? An anon in the RWBY/RT general has an idea he'd like you to hear (up to you whether you want to bother checking it out or not, though).
>>
>>8599821

No, I believe Maya is also Dryden's character.
I think she may be his favourite.
>>
>>8599869
Ah, shit. Sorry for the confusion.

I didn't know you saw it yet, I was about to send it to you via email.

Thatch, will you come back to /co/ with us when the new season starts? I'm not saying you have to be /co/ exclusive, but we do miss you.

This is Dryden.
Did someone mention me?
I'm about to go to sleep but leave whatever you were going to ask of me.

>>8601268

Thanks, you may not realize it always means alot when the requester likes it.

And do you know what it's referencing?
>>
>>8601727
I don't know the reference
>>
>pick a CYOA character

>both of them are having bondage foreplay
>>
>>8601799

It's one of Street Fighter Yang's Super Art: Sei'ei Enbu where he produces afterimages of himself that mimic his attacks a split-second later.

It's stylish as all hell and served as a primary inspiration for a semblance in JQ's HNTR leader, Hunter Hughes Hibiscus.

Anons can you help me out? I am trying to find out how useful a Sharingan would be on Remnant. I doubt I am the first to think of this and was wondering if you guys had seen any good discussions on this or maybe discuss it ourselves.

Also if you where gonna be trapped on Remnant what power up would you like from another setting? Assume you only get one and that would be your semblance.

I'd have to go with the Hiraishin. It will forever be the reason I still like Naruto.
>>
>>8602911
Good choice. If you use bombs or fight by ambush it is insanely good. No combat uses are also varied.
>>
>>8602043
Yes, because it's all one person running people off and then wishing they'd come back.
>>
>>8602786
It'd be insanely useful. Just look how useful Emerald is. But instead of her enemies continuing to move, they'd be sitting ducks.

On top of that, it'd allow you to copy any fighting style you see. You'd be the strongest melee/unarmed fighter on the continent.

That doesn't even take into account the ocular ninjutsu, which are more or less a toss up on what you get.

The only downside is you'd never have another Uchiha to take eyes from, so overuse will leave you blind and you only get two Izanami/Izanagi total.

It's hard to pick a single power, for me. My first choice would be Danny Phantom's ghost powers, but only as set. I don't think any of them individually besides intangibility are worth taking, and even that's not as good as Hiraishin.

Actually, the more I think about it, I'm going to keep it Naruto and pick the Rinnegan. Just the Deva Path's Basho Ten'in and Shinra Tensei are worth getting it for, but you get the 5 other paths and all the other perks as well. It's fucking broken.

I wish I could compete, but... Y'know, I would say I'm garbage AND people hate me, but at this point I haven't done anything in so long that I would actually assume people don't know me at all.

So I'm just garbage.

Aw what the heck, have a deadpan single-take read of this thing I promised to read literally years ago.

Scratch that, deleted it at some point in the past.

If I recall, it was some kind of pseudo romantic vampire Weiss story. So if you're super bummed about that, sorry.
