All of RWBY's arcs were awful in Volume 4, now that I think about it. I used to be more forgiving of Yang's, but hers is pretty bad too. It's so rushed and half-assed.

It seems like Miles and Kerry might have actually run into a wall with v4 because a lot of the fanbase didn't like it. Even Reddit was complaining, and they usually suck RT's dick. More people on tumblr were bitching too

Looking at all the original concept art for the show, and listening to Monty speak about it makes me sad. Because he clearly had a grand vision for it (which is represented very well by the art he commissioned Kristina for), but he was never able to truly reach that dream thanks to budget, a ton of other things, and even his own failings honestly.

As long as the writing was okay, RWBY could have lived by its visuals and concepts. But it isn't, and as we learn more about the world, the interest just kind of gets sucked out.

I thought that the whole "melee form/ranged form" weapon is used a bit too much, so I figured I could just have a character use a weapon that works with their semblance. Hers being the ability to "knead" aura into things she creates to give them life. Though it can also be used to draw say a volley of arrows, and they'd "come to life" as an actual volley of arrows.

If you want a critique of the design you need to explain the character.Because the design as it is now is just a random mash of two separate not even remotely related things that just look stupid together.

If you're explanation for why it looks that way is, "she thought that it looked cool individually," you're going to have to elaborate because then the design hinges on a character trait.

Well from a Hunters perspective the leg straps going all the way up to her thighs are going to impede movement, the thigh in particular swells and flexes a lot, particularly during acrobatic movement and bends. All those straps are going to constrict her muscles and blood flow.

I'd consider keeping the straps down to her calves below the knee to keep the old-school sandal/centurion look, maybe add some simple armor/shin plates for coverage.

Tunic looks fine, i'd do the version without the strings, you want those to have free range of movement for rapid legwork which a huntress is going to do. I'd say stick with the scarf. It's easier to get rid of in combat, and can be used to hide things, or in desperate circumstances to rope/sling things with.

Belt choice is mainly stylistic in the world of RWBY. Coco and other characters have totally impractical belts that don't seem to do much of anything. I'd say use A's belt, but have little grenades or dust cartridges attached to the belt like B, that will give it the tacticool look while still looking somewhat functional.

Other than that looks good. The tunic looks airy and flexible enough for rapid movement, but not so billowy that it'd snag on weapons or nature/enemies.

True, the plot armor with Aura kinda makes a lot of these outfits work when in actuality they'd be catching on every goddam tree branch out of the arena.

That said, I'd still recommend the suggestions I made about the leg straps and belt. All of the girls in rwby have at most, leggings or shorts/skirts for their lower stuff. (Ok Emerald has those hotpants, but still).
