Lynn's purpose is to more or less fill a role in which her and Lincoln are on an equal playing field, at least in age. Luan sort of works for that, but she's less popular for things outside of porn because, I think, a lot of writers have trouble knowing how exactly to characterize her. Lucy also sort of fills the peer role, but she's a bit of an odd character. A lot of subtly is required for her.

Think of it this way: You want to write a story with Lincoln going on a date with his sister. In terms of writing something immediately engaging, Lynn is the best bet if your doing something that isn't /ss/ or little sister bait because of her snowballed popularity and outgoing personality that makes her effection for Lincoln incredibly noticeable.

Exactly. I'm currently having an issue with that. The concept I have works with Lynncoln, but for the sake of being different I want to try to rework it for another sister. Unfortunately, that really can change a story; sometimes not for the better. I like romance stuff, and I like Lincoln being with someone close to his age. I honestly think Lynncoln can be a bet of an inescapable trap at times.
