Basically it was a combination of weapons and quality of lifestyle that led to peace; it is just easier for predators to make a truce and have a stable source of food rather than having to risk death.

I made a few timestamps in-universe wise, and while I don't know the exact time they confronted Bogo in the Rainforest District, they were chased by Manches from 11:23PM to 11:29PM (you can see this time when they are looking through the traffic cameras). This time is a bit wonky though, since they get untangled from the vines, lead the ZPD to the sky trams, take the sky trams, Nick tells his story, and then the sun comes up showing it is near dawn.

When they get to Bellwether's office, the clock says it is 16:01PM, so it has been 16 hours since the Manchas chase and them being in the office.

Well, that's got a number of variables. Yes, food availability is huge; I imagine insect protein didn't really become a replacement until centuries later, so fish (and maybe lizards/birds at that point?) would have been the only options. The obligate carnivores would face the most difficulty with the peace biologically speaking, but I'm sure there's a number of social difficulties that we just have no information on at all.

Why do you think there's so little crime in Zootopia, relatively speaking? Prisoners, criminals, ne'er-do-wells, undesirables--all these and more were food for the predators before alternative and replacement meats became cheap and commonplace, and the desire to stay on the straight on narrow or risk becoming a state-sanctioned meal on some predator's plate has on some level ingrained itself on the majority of the population.

Actually, Byron is one of the most inconsistant people to do reports with. In an interview he said that Robin Hood could've been playing in the world of Zootopia "why not".

In the later FAQ in his twitter he says, that since Robin Hood takes place in "England" and Zootopia takes place in a different world than ours, they are two seperate universes.

In the same FAQ he says that birds and lizards do EXIST in zootopia. However he does not states whenever they are sapient or not. Just that they are there.
