That's a good question!
Why not discuss character dynamics? I see a lot of people talking about which girl they want to fuck, which makes sense.

What about how the characters interact with one another? Meena and Buster have an extremely interesting dynamic for example. Sort of an odd friendship. While their personalities contrast it's sort of what makes that friendship work. Buster encourages her, and in turn she encourages him. She's the one who restores his faith in the show while he's the one who encourages her to find the courage to sing in public in the first place.

Johnny and Ms. Crawly, Rosita and Gunter, Ash and Rosita, Ash and Buster, Buster and Eddie, Ms Crawly and Buster, Mike and Meena, Rosita and her husband...

There were a lot of neat little character moments that can be studied and built upon. It might even be interesting to ask ourselves how other characters with next to no interaction would do in a situation.

There's also the fact that music plays a big role in the movie. I'm not sure how we can build off of that, though. Maybe what songs we wish we could have heard a character cover?

It's a nice teacher pupil dynamic, and I think it's neat that most of the characters in the movie formed unusual friendships with each other. I don't know much about the shorts yet myself, but I plan on watching all of them.

I did like that the shorts seem to imply Gunter is now a family friend to Rosita, on top of a friend to her.

I'm sorry I don't draw here as often. Usually when ideas or inspiration strikes, which is sort of how I do everything. I assure you I lurk here daily, though.

To me the only similarities they have is a modern day urban setting filled with talking animals.

While you can argue that Zootopia overall is better produced and better put together, Sing has a sincerity and heart to it I can't help but love, so much so I actually saw it multiple times in theaters. As a big softy I can tell you Sing made me cry way more as well.

It's an apples to oranges thing, but since the settings are similar and they came out within a year of each other people love to compare the two. I think both have their merits and have a very different feel to them.

The downside to Sing is the world isn't as fun to explore as Zootopia, but the plus side is I think I enjoy the characters just a bit more overall. Likely because while Zootopia was also character based, Sing was essentially 100% so, a benefit to not having to also sell us on the world.

That's just my opinion though.

Hope to draw for this place again at some point, but I'll be around either way.

I cry whenever Meena sings at the wreckage of the moon theater, and a few times I've cried during Johnny's father's realization, as well as when Mike is shocked by Meena's singing.

Knowing me a few other things probably watered my eyes, but those are the scenes that stand out the most to me.
