There's nothing stopping you from trying, but you have to consider whether the risk of permanently losing your account is worth submitting something to the competition that might not even win anyway.

Besides, there's no reason to steal art to submit. If you look at the kind of art that usually wins, quality isn't exactly a requirement. Neopet dialogue suggests they're at least wary of The Lab Ray, or not too willing.
And how voluntary Morphing Potions and Paint Brush useage are is dubious.
Albeit, the latter less so, because you actually have to be at The Rainbow Pool to use a Paint Brush, & it's much harder to paint someone nonconsensually in a very specific spot with a well-known purpose. (I'm surprised I just said those words.)


In any case, technically, it's the owner administering most means of transformation.

Also, for what it's worth:

Colour (Baby & Elderly aside.) all pets of the same species, look very similar, if not pretty much the same, regardless of age.
But I suppose that's just going by user-owned pets.

But then, also going by that, there are technically no Neopets older than 17 years old, as no Neopets were created before around November 13th, 1999.


So ignoring the perhaps more reasonable viewpoints into the world of Neopets that plot comics & such offer:

You need to beat challenges ON THE DAY OF THE NEW CHALLENGE, or else....

1. You miss out on that day's challenge's Day-of-Completion Prize.
2. You don't get a Gold Checkmark, you get a Green one, like a casual; Getting all Gold Checkmarks by beating all Challenges on the day of release is ESSENTIAL to getting all of the exclusive prizes that can be awarded at the end of the event.

Obviously, you can expect the prizes awarded for doing all Challenges on their Day of Release to be better & more valuable.


You should also check WHAT items which challenge awards.
Abigail's challenges are usually easier, but some kinds of items may be more desirable than others, like Books, Wearables, and new Battledome items.

So check the guide day to day to see who's got what prize, and check the items, see which is more valuable, and which you want more.

As far as I know, there isn't one reason to challenge Chadley or Abigail exclusively throughout the whole event, if that's what you're asking.


The two offer different exclusive prizes for beating their challenges, and which may have more use & desirability varies from item to item.

Personally, I'd have done Abigail's challenge if she was offering the wearable item instead of the food item today, as opposed to how it actually is, which is the other way around.

But it may not be that way tomorrow, so check the guide.


Ultimately, who's prize is more valuable is highly variable.

The only reason to go for Chadley over Abigail is simply that since his scores are going to be higher & harder to beat, fewer people will obtain his items.
Less of that exclusive prize entering the economy will make it higher value than it would be if, theoretically, Abigail awarded it, & the greater ease in obtaining it made more supply & lower price, obviously.


But that doesn't mean you should go for something like a worthless Gift Category item prize instead of something better just because Chadley/Abigail is giving it out.


There is a possibility of there being extra final prizes for beating ALL of the harder challenge choices like last year.

You weren't necessarily wrong, it's still a bit of a gamble. It depends on the type of item it ends up being. The extra item in 2012 was a background that's currently priced at 110,000 NP, which is a decent value, but perhaps not enough to make up for any Abigail items you might have wanted, especially if you have to wait a while for it to become worth that much. But the 2013 and 2016 DDs gave a stamp and a charm respectively. Needless to say, they were each worth at least 2.5 million from the very day they were given out, and the stamp from 2013 has gone up to 8-9 million since then.

The image is apparently from 2011. There is a serious lack of decent Abigail images, though I suppose that's something I should expect for every Neopets character by now.

This is pretty standard for events like this. The Daily Dare for this year wasn't actually accessible until like, 2 or 3 PM at least, NST.

TNT has been long aware of the issue presented by this; You start your event and post the news about it more than halfway into the Neopian Day, and there's bound to be people who will miss that it even started, much less complete the challenge on time.
And that's not fun, and many would argue it doesn't feel very fair either.

Hence, with most events like this, TNT makes the first challenge have a "Complete on the Day of Release" window be a "Day and a Half" -thus the 20.5 days duration of the whole event- and lets the Day 1 Challenge be the only Challenge for the first 2 days.

It's POSSIBLE there might be a Daily Dare today, but like I said, the event has been stated to run for 20 AND A HALF days.

Day 1 and Day 2 likely share a challenge because the Daily Dare event started over halfway into the day.


Hence, JumpStaff/TNT are likely doing like they have in past years:

Having Day 1 & Day 2 share a challenge so that people who might not have noticed the late-starting event or late-posted news can catch up and get into things.

Yeah, I only realized how infuriating Chadley's Challenge for today is once I played.
Not because of the difficulty.

Kou-Jong only lets you play three rounds, no matter the difficulty, and you need to play on hard for the increased points to be able to pass Chadley's challenge, unless you can clear the tiles fast enough for plenty of bonus points, and consistently.

It's really not that bad, even on hard. If you've ever played Mahjong, the same basic strategy applies.

1. Don't worry about time. If you clear three levels on hard you're going to beat his score.

2. The FIRST thing you should do is scan the board for 4's, or both pairs that are exposed where you can see them. If you can clear any 4's, do it.

3. If you see some that are in the middle of a row, be aware that those are going to be some of the last ones you get to. Change how you play accordingly. Don't knock out a pair when the third one is stuck buried down there if you know you need it to unlock another important tile.

4. Edge tiles that uncover 1 or 2 more tiles are more important than ones that are up high that uncover no tiles. I know it seems counter-intuitive, but think of it like Chinese Solitaire. The ultimate goal is to uncover all the tiles, so the moves that uncover more legal tiles means more chances that you find what you're looking for.

4. Sometimes you get hosed, but that's ok. Like Solitaire, not every game is winnable. Just keep trying.

I play Kou Jong for fun because I love Mahjong, honestly I win about 50% of games on hard. This isn't one of those insane tests of endurance, this game isn't that bad. You WILL get it.

Without looking up a guide, I'd say focus less on making any matches you can, and focus more on making matches to remove tiles that are on top of others or obstructing matches you need to make.


Tiles on top of other tiles are your worst enemy, because any tiles under them are inaccessible, & you need all the options you can get.
If tiles you end up needing for a match are inaccessible, you won't be able to clear the level and get points.

Other than that, play on hard for better points per round, and get good; You don't need bonus points to beat the challenge if you play on Hard, but you get them for playing quickly, so they could be helpful.

I feel bad for anybody trying to clear it on hard that isn't good at Mahjong. I tried clearing it on hard, but I had trouble just getting through the first round. Medium was way easier, the difference in difficulty is ridiculous. It was just a matter of getting enough bonus points.

..And then I discovered that right-clicking to bring up the flash options menu freezes the game, including the bonus timer, as long as the menu is open. So I could literally take all the time I needed to find matches and still get more than enough bonus points. I'm not sure if that's a browser-specific "problem", it does that in Firefox but not Chrome.

I was actually pretty close to beating Chadley legitimately but kept ending up like 20 points short before I just gave in and took the dishonest route.

It wasn't that rough. Medium difficulty is easily doable, and being able to cheat the system to guarantee over 100 bonus points per round made the challenge laughably simple.

I did try it on Hard first, because I figured taking a bit longer but guaranteeing a win was the overall easiest method. But then the first Hard puzzle was taking at least 10 minutes to get close to solving. Plus an extra 10 minutes per restart when you screw up, which is more likely to happen on Hard. And I quickly decided that playing Mahjong for a few hours to earn Neopets items was really not what I wanted to do.

This decision was only compounded once I tried the game on Medium and realized that having half as many pieces also meant that making matches was absurdly easier and the Medium puzzles could be cleared in under 2 minutes with very few retries necessary, which is plenty enough bonus points to beat Chadley.
