Real talk, should I get a draw pad? I seriously can't stand drawing with a mouse, Its good or some things like filling in or editing exact pixels but drawing lines and sketching is the worst. and I always eel like i draw better and faster with a pen or on paper. hell now that i think of it i simply hate drawing digitally, does a draw pad work better or feel like your drawing/sketching with pen and paper? is one worth it anyway?

my friend pressured me into buying a drawing tablet so i got a wacom intuos draw

it ended up being a p cool purchase and i absolutely love how it feels and works

you're probably proficient enough to make use of one, it just takes a bit to get a feel and get used to

For anyone sad about the Nintendo Switch, know that a bunch of models had defects, ranging from 'dead' or 'stuck' pixels in the screen(which Nintendo urges customers to believe is normal) to droves of bricked consoles that did nothing but screech and garble when you turned them on...

Oh, and if you connected the controller niblets incorrectly, they became impossible to remove by hand, the charging dock was horrible and would scratch the screen just from putting it in normally, controllers when slipped onto the screen would jiggle, a

Impossible. The screen's made of easily-scratched plastic.

But if your console worked out of the box, it should be okay.

Bet you've noticed though that you can't charge the screen and use its stand at the same time, lol. This is the design we were hyped for.

This is where the fabulous world of referencing comes into play.

Compared to a picture of a real cat, you made the shoulders way too high. Lower them down, make them a little thicker maybe, and you'll be on the right track.

That dude cherry picks so hard for his videos, the VR one being the worst.

As much as I hate to sound like the "Nintendo can do no wrong" guy, but what console launch in the last few years didn't have a load of defective consoles? Xbox Ones had broken disc drives, PS4s were bricked, both Xbox 360 and PS3 had their own RRoD (I went through two 360s because of it). It's not unique to the Switch.

The dock scratching and "Dead pixels are a feature" are inexcusable though

The few defective consoles are excusable, but when problems extend to poor design choices (and not just implementation), that is inexcusable.
Here's a couple observations of mine of this video.
I would have thought that an engineer would have wind that sliding a screen against any surface is a bad idea. Note that other docking stations only have backsides for the back of the device to rest on.
The wobbly controller handles are due to being on a single thin rail. This allows an axis of rotation. Two flat contact surfaces will never be perfectly flush.
The visual and audio glitches are absolutely mind boggling. Most devices just don't even start, or blackscreen crash. I can imagine prototypes using quality components, but when the manufacturer uses the cheapest stuff they can find, the electronic component tolerances become too large. The in-game glitches remind me of Vinesauce game corruptions, especially the polygon messes. This tips off to either corrupted game files, bad contacts, or potentially having incorrect voltages for the CPU or RAM thus causing errors.
The mini controller configuration only working with the specific plus/minus wireless adapter is rather disappointing. A cheaper option would be to create a universal one, so only 1 design needs to be mass produced instead of 2 at half the quantity. The wrong adapter getting stuck only adds insult to injury; product testing should include (unintentional) misuse and (intentional) abuse.
The USB cable of the bottom of the device is just wrong. No explanation needed.
I don't know too much about wireless transmission to suggest a fix for controller distance, besides having more powerful transmitters. This trades off with battery life, though. Personally, I'd like a wired option.

Yes. I figured since desuarchive deletes their picture files eventually and since this is a noob centric thread people (myself included) might want to look back in a few years time and see how far they've come. The plan was to put them in a dropbox or something and link it to a future paint thread.

I wound up drawing this unintentionally and now have engrossed this little unhappy accident with a story about a Shuttle 18 in the year 2077, at 18:43 the three astronauts that left the shuttle to assist in the reconstruction of a nearby lunar site. Unfortunately that site went dark and after some time, 22:12 to be exact, an explosion blew out of the lunar surface. Immediately the last remaining crew member of Shuttle 18 knew without a doubt his colleagues were in fact dead, confirmed by the loss of communication and all 250 life signs within that one area.
The United Coalition of Astronomic Endeavors had deemed the disaster as an unfortunate side effect of mining into unknown masses (considerably large asteroid bodies or other sizeable rocks either caught in a planet(s) gravity or any other gravitational force) and have set a new set of procedures and standards into "Safe Mining Techniques".

Sorry for the earful, I just kinda randomly make things and give them entire stories and whatnot... It is a bad or good habit dependent upon the subject.

Yeah, I am kinda out of it too. My school is just the epitome of disappointment and I am just barely hanging on to my dreams to be an illustrator. The mixture of JROTC being treated as a joke and my cadet rank being mocked at every chance possible really put me down over the course of this year, hell my First Sergeant position was not even worth being in I am absolutely relieved I resigned from that position. Morale crushing is what my academy does best, and so far it has flying colours in that specific category.
